Background / History

Past relationships and trauma

As a young woman struggling within Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong loved a man whose incompletely evolved dragon Martial Soul was Luo Sanpao. Seeing Lu Mingfei’s Black Dragon King makes her recall that relationship and wonder what the man might have achieved had Luo Sanpao become the Golden Holy Dragon 7.

Liu Erlong identifies Bibi Dong as her romantic rival over Yu Xiaogang, blaming her for taking “Brother Gang” away. This resentment later leads Liu Erlong to keep and train Lu Mingfei partly as revenge against Bibi Dong 92.

Bibi Dong survived sexual assault by the former Pope in the Secret Chamber. She buried those memories behind mental barriers, but the Rakshasa Divine Power later breaks through them and forces her to relive the experience 162 163.

Recruiting Lu Mingfei

After hearing Su Yuntao’s report of a Black Dragon King Martial Soul and Innate Level 20 Soul Power, Bibi Dong orders Huang Fei to bring Lu Mingfei to her 5.

During their first meeting, she tests his composure and probes his body with Soul Power. His unusually stable spiritual core impresses her, while his dragon’s bloodline makes her own Martial Soul tremble. She considers personally raising him as a loyal right-hand man, but rejects sheltered instruction in favor of ordinary training and hardship. Huang Fei must nevertheless submit his progress reports directly to her every month 6 7.

A month later, Bibi Dong praises his improvement and requires a first Soul Ring of at least one thousand years—far above the usual first-ring limit. She acknowledges that absorbing such a ring without preparation would destroy his body. To obtain a compatible ring, she sends him and Huang Fei to Dragon Valley, provides its 1,000 Gold Soul Coin entry fee, and orders them to conceal their Spirit Hall affiliation 14 15 16.

Search and confrontation

Huang Fei’s injured return brings news that Lu Mingfei awakened a Domain after obtaining his first Soul Ring and was subsequently taken by Dugu Bo. Bibi Dong gives Huang Fei healing medicine and personally departs with Ghost Douluo and Huang Lingyuan to retrieve him 72.

In Sunset Forest, Dugu Bo claims that a Purple Lightning Dragon carried Lu Mingfei away. Bibi Dong searches the surrounding area, finds no trace of the boy, and orders Huang Lingyuan to punish Dugu Bo for seizing someone from Spirit Hall. She spares his life but warns him against further interference 74 75 76.

The party determines that a powerful human Soul Master—not a Soul Beast—took Lu Mingfei, identifying Yu Yuanzhen as the likely culprit. Bibi Dong immediately visits the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, threatens its destruction, and orders Huang Lingyuan to force open its gate 80 81 83.

She engages Yu Yuanzhen while Ghost Douluo searches the clan. Her spiritual probe into the nine Dragon Mountains triggers an ancient dragon-power counterattack, damaging the barrier containing her Rakshasa Divine Power. Unable to locate Lu Mingfei and facing worsening backlash, she withdraws to stabilize herself in seclusion 84 85 86 87.

Return to Spirit Hall

After returning, Bibi Dong issues a Papal Decree ordering Spirit Hall to search for Lu Mingfei using his portrait. Sixteen bishops eventually find him in the Star Dou Great Forest; following their confrontation with his companions, he returns to Spirit Hall 152 157 159.

Bibi Dong welcomes him with unusual relief, saying she searched more than half the empire. Their reunion turns violent when Rakshasa Divine Power overwhelms her judgment and revives her traumatic memories. She restrains Lu Mingfei and forces a kiss on him despite his protests 163.

Lu Mingfei’s Dragon King energy suppresses the Rakshasa power, restoring some of her clarity. Qian Renxue witnesses the encounter and leaves in anger. Bibi Dong releases Lu Mingfei, offers no explanation, and orders him to attend Spirit Hall Academy the following day. When Lu Mingfei asks to bring Na’er to the academy, Bibi Dong permits her to apply only through the regular entrance test, Soul Power assessment, and class-placement procedures 166.
