Heaven and Earth Valley of Love Questions.
God King Tang San hovered in the sky, divine power swirling around him as he silently watched Wang Dong'er personally walk toward her death. His heart clenched. Man was not made of wood or stone; how could he be without feeling?
After all, she was his daughter.
A white jade hand pressed against her smooth forehead. Dazzling golden light flared from Wang Dong'er's brow.
The resplendent Bright Goddess Butterfly behind her dissolved into countless motes of light that scattered away. Her gaze was unfocused, and blood seeped from all seven of her orifices at once.
God King Tang San stiffened. The sight was like a branding iron, searing itself viciously into his heart. He nearly exhausted all his strength before tearing his gaze away from his own flesh and blood.
Only then did he notice.
Within the void.
A pair of eyes appeared upon a doorway rimmed with flickering crimson lightning.
The blood vessels crisscrossing the eyeballs resembled the cracks in shattered porcelain, hazy and unfocused, as though blood might drip from them at any moment.
"An enemy?" God King Tang San frowned. The Golden Trident in his hand erupted with terrifying power, and the surrounding clouds transformed into a blue sea.
The Golden Trident swept out, golden radiance flowing gracefully. God King Tang San was about to unleash Divine Realm's First Control, Unfixed Storm.
The face beneath that doorway became clear, and the instant he saw it, God King Tang San's body jolted rigid. Even the movement of his hand slowed by several degrees.
Not even Wang Dong'er being struck dead by his palm before his eyes had provoked such violent emotional turmoil. After all, Wang Dong'er's death had long been part of his plan.
He had been prepared for it.
But that face...
It was clearly... himself in his younger days.
"God King!"
That familiar face was incomparably twisted. "You have wronged Xiao Wu. You have no heart... That was your biological daughter... How could you do this to her?!"
"You have already forgotten how you, alone and destitute in the Tang Sect, practiced your secret arts day after day, dreaming of what it felt like for an ordinary person to have family."
"What do you know?" God King Tang San fixed that familiar face with a grim gaze. "She is my daughter. What does that have to do with you?"
"You have a death wish!"
"Die!"
Rings of golden light shot forth abruptly, hurtling toward the face in the void. God King Tang San was confident that once struck by Unfixed Storm, not even a god could break free easily.
Yet what happened next exceeded his expectations somewhat.
The doorway suddenly slammed shut in the next instant. The rings of Unfixed Storm circled through the void, unable to lock onto their target for a long while.
Frowning, God King Tang San arrived at the spot where the "face" had been and muttered, "What kind of power was that?"
For the first time, he sensed that some great terror was watching him.
Narak Space.
En Zuo yanked Tang San back and closed Narak Space. Staring at Tang San, he said irritably, "You almost died."
If he had been immobilized by Unfixed Storm, En Zuo could only have abandoned the Tang San before him and searched for another suitable candidate.
Right now, he could not possibly be a match for God King Tang San.
Tang San's temples throbbed, veins bulging on his neck. He clutched his head tightly in both hands, as though that were the only way to make himself feel better.
After a long while, once he had calmed down, Tang San looked at En Zuo apologetically. "S-Sorry, I... I couldn't control myself..."
"I just find it hard to accept that the future me became like this."
Just now, he had been a hair's breadth from death.
Tang San still felt lingering fear.
En Zuo led Tang San slowly toward the outskirts. As he explained what to watch out for ten thousand years later, he sighed. "In ten thousand years, the world changes. No one can guarantee that they will remain unchanged."
"Even you, in other parallel spacetime, wielding divine authority, are no exception."
Standing behind En Zuo, Tang San's voice was filled with utter bewilderment. "Can you tell me, after I became a god, what kind of vision did Douluo Star under my leadership ultimately become?"
Tang San had never cared much about the other people of Douluo Star. But he wanted to know what kind of place the version of himself who could drive even his own daughter to death had made of Douluo Star.
Would it be worse... or better...
En Zuo did not answer at once. Within Narak Space, only three faint breaths rose and fell in turn.
After a pause.
En Zuo finally spoke. "It is useless for me to tell you these things. You will always have doubts about them and believe that I have mixed in some lies."
With a soft laugh, En Zuo tapped the void with his staff. The familiar doorway appeared. Before stepping inside, he said, "Use your own eyes to feel it. Some truths speak only to those whose soles are stained with mud."
Meeting Tang San's gaze, En Zuo's lips curled into a faint, indistinct smile. His figure was gradually swallowed by the doorway, leaving behind only one sentence. "Perhaps, in my era, you can find an answer that belongs solely to you."
"My answer..."
Tang San's gaze steadied. He had never forgotten the purpose of this journey.
He needed enough power to stand alone against and suppress the Golden Dragon King. He needed to search for a force capable of neutralizing the Golden Dragon King's power of destruction.
Or perhaps he could place his hopes in En Zuo and beg him to grant Xiao Wu the resurrection power of Nightmare Power, even the power of immortality.
The two did not conflict.
And now.
After nearly being killed by "himself," Tang San silently added another item in his heart.
To see.
What Douluo Continent had truly become ten thousand years later, after he became a god.
Tang San took a deep breath and stepped through the slowly closing spatial doorway, carrying his longing for Xiao Wu and his expectations for ten thousand years later.
The next instant.
Tang San appeared inside En Zuo's single dormitory. He looked around at the scene in disbelief. Compared with the Shrek Academy of his era, what lay before him was far better than he had imagined.
There were not only the most basic intelligent soul tools, but even everyday items. Things like snow-white, soft tissues had once been completely beyond reach.
As the local boss of Monster Academy, En Zuo naturally had to play the host. Demon Ding led the way ahead.
En Zuo led Tang San out of the standalone dormitory building and all the way to the vendor area outside Monster Academy's gates.
The originally continuous stretch of stalls was packed to the brim. The fragrant aroma of grilled fish permeated the air, while the four-character sign above the former Zhouyu Barbecue had already been taken down.
In its place was:
—En Zuo Treats You to Grilled Fish
The highly gimmicky name attracted countless students eager to try it. The shop owner was also generous, offering everyone their first grilled fish for free.
It lived up to the shop's name.
It built goodwill with passersby while offering real value. Every student who came because of its reputation and tasted the grilled fish in person was full of praise.
Whenever they passed by, they could not help buying one to satisfy their cravings.
Tang San looked at the grilled fish shop's sign, then at the crowd automatically parting to make way for En Zuo. Surprised, he asked, "Is this... your business?"
"More or less..."
En Zuo stared at the sign for a while and did not deny it. After all, it was a restaurant he had helped connect and arrange. As long as there was nothing wrong with the food.
They could use the name if they wanted.
