Tang San was a Tang Sect disciple in a previous life and retained its secret arts and combat instincts after being reborn. He grew up lacking familial affection, which shaped both his attachment to his father, Tang Hao, and his initially confused feelings for Xiao Wu. 18 24 97

While searching for the Titan Giant Ape that had taken Xiao Wu, Tang San encountered En Zuo. En Zuo revealed Xiao Wu's hundred-thousand-year soul beast identity, exposed Tang San's Tang Sect past, and foretold Xiao Wu's future sacrifices. Tang San agreed to cooperate after En Zuo promised a way to protect Xiao Wu. 18

Tang San helped kill a thousand-year Human-Faced Demon Spider, absorbed its soul ring, and became a three-ring Soul Elder. En Zuo claimed the creature's Eight Spider Lances as payment, while Tang San's successful absorption and Xiao Wu's safe return convinced him that En Zuo's predictions were real. 19 21
