Background / History

Monster Academy was founded with the purpose of defeating Shrek Academy. Though it occupies a lofty position on the Star Luo Continent, En Ci considers its student talent and resources inferior to those available on Douluo Continent, where Shrek is based 1 34.

The academy’s elite tradition is the Eight Heavenly Kings, an eight-member seed team modeled after Shrek’s Seven Monsters. Its members are selected as Monster Academy’s benchmark students and represent the academy in major competitions 1.

At age eleven, En Zuo withdrew from the Eight Heavenly Kings rather than accept what he saw as an inadequate lineup. With En Ci’s approval, he began recruiting exceptional soul masters across parallel time-spaces to form a same-age team capable of decisively defeating Shrek 1.

Following En Zuo’s entrance examinations, En Ci established Zero Class, First Year to cultivate potential teammates for him. The academy directed resources from all years toward the class and introduced a rotating challenge system intended to eliminate students unable to maintain their place 35.

Admissions

Monster Academy normally admits students at age twelve with at least rank twenty soul power. En Zuo and Huo Yuhao received special consideration before meeting the standard enrollment age or cultivation requirement 5 9.

New-student examinations follow a ten-part format modeled after Shrek Academy’s system. Each section is worth up to ten points, and students require sixty total points to pass 12.

Facilities

• Soul Battle Arena District — contains fifty arenas for live soul master combat and spectators 5.
• Beast Arena — a simulated soul-beast combat facility used during entrance assessments; participants earn points by surviving and damaging the opponents they face 12.

Zero Class

Zero Class was created after En Zuo’s enrollment and receives Monster Academy’s highest resource priority. It began with 150 first-year students, but its membership is unstable by design: students from other classes may issue weekly challenges, with defeated students losing their places 35.

Eight Heavenly Kings

The Eight Heavenly Kings are Monster Academy’s traditional elite team and seed lineup for high-level competition. They include Dragon King Long Yue, Tiger King Dai Yueyan, Fox King Su Mu, Wolf King Hua Lantang, Tower King Ye Zhi, Wind King Lin San, and Shadow King Teng Teng; En Zuo initially held a reserved eighth position before withdrawing 1 34.

Long Yue left En Zuo’s vacancy unfilled out of respect for his junior brother’s decision, proposing that the team effectively operate as seven members rather than replace him 7.

En Zuo’s Team

En Zuo assembled a separate team to surpass the Heavenly Kings and challenge Shrek Academy. Its members include Tang San, Huo Yuhao, Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, Bo Saixi, and Dai Linger alongside En Zuo 17 40 52 61 63.

By the time Dai Linger joined, the seven-member group was widely praised within the academy as its Golden Generation and jokingly called its “true Heavenly Kings Team” 63.

Major Competitions

Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament

The Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament is held once every three years. Monster Academy treats it as a major measure of its standing on the Star Luo Continent and a path toward bringing Shrek Academy into direct competition 1 44.

During the tournament, En Zuo served as a reserve with the Heavenly Kings while also competing individually. He defeated Star Luo Royal Academy’s seventeen-year-old Soul Ancestor Sima Xian in two moves, prompting Dai Tianling to increase Monster Academy’s cultivation resources by thirty percent 44 48.

Monster Academy ultimately won the tournament, with its Heavenly Kings claiming first place in their respective events. The result intensified public calls for an exchange competition against Shrek Academy 49.

New and Old Heavenly Kings Match

En Zuo formally challenged Long Yue’s veteran Heavenly Kings team to determine tournament qualification order. The format consisted of three one-on-one matches, one two-on-two match, and a seven-on-seven team battle, for a total of nine points 55 64.

The match marked the first time a first-year team, nearly five years younger than its opponents, challenged the Heavenly Kings. En Zuo’s team defeated the older side repeatedly in the opening matches and established itself as Monster Academy’s rising generation 64 70.

Shrek Academy Exchange

Monster Academy later hosted a delegation from Shrek Academy, turning the visit into a competition with soul bones as prizes. En Zuo, Long Yue, and Dai Yuner introduced themselves to the visiting students as their future opponents 81 83.

En Zuo’s victory over Tang Wulin became a major blow to Shrek’s reputation on the Star Luo Continent, with Shrek representatives acknowledging the overwhelming gap displayed in the match 108.
