Background / History

Previous Life and Arrival on Douluo Continent

Li Changqing was an ordinary person in his previous life. After visiting Mount Longhu to offer incense to the Three Pure Ones, he was struck by a truck and transmigrated to the Douluo Continent ten thousand years after Tang San's ascension. 8

He awakened the Heavenly Profound and Earthly Yellow Exquisite Pagoda innately. Despite later speculation that it was related to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, Li states that he has no connection to the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and came from an ordinary commoner background. 9

Wandering Hunter

Before entering Shrek Academy, Li traveled alone and developed a reputation among evil soul masters as the “Green-Robed Hunter.” He rescued Ye Guyi from four evil soul masters, defeating them within ten breaths. 1

After Ye Guyi's mother, Ye Wanqing, died, Li preserved her Life Soul and placed it in Ye Guyi's Sea of Spirit. He explained that retaining the Life Soul would allow Ye Guyi to potentially revive her mother after attaining godhood. 7

Shrek Academy

Li entered Shrek at Rank 38 and became Bei Bei's roommate. He declined Bei Bei's invitation to join the weakened Tang Sect, choosing not to tie himself to a faction that did not serve his goals. 9 12

Over the following four years, he advanced to Rank 54 and became a Soul King at fourteen. He accompanied Bei Bei and Tang Ya to the Star Dou Great Forest in exchange for a Black Tortoise Divine Pill, protecting Tang Ya during her acquisition of a third soul ring. 19 20 22

During that expedition, Li received the divine inheritances of the Life Goddess and Destruction God in his Sea of Spirit. He later openly confirmed this inheritance to Mu En. 22 67

Personality

Li is calm, analytical, and unusually mature for his age. He assesses conflicts in terms of long-term consequences rather than immediate sentiment; he argues that rare protectors such as Ye Guyi must survive and grow stronger instead of sacrificing themselves recklessly. 4

He is pragmatic and ruthless toward evil soul masters. Li does not judge evil by a person's Martial Soul or appearance, but by their actions, and he kills hostile evil soul masters without hesitation when he considers it necessary. 6 43
