The Golden Light Mantra was among the techniques recorded by Yu Chen from the Eight Great Divine Incantations of his previous life. Unlike the Pure Heaven and Earth Incantation, which he successfully adapted through shamanic sacrificial methods, the Golden Light Mantra lacked the empowerment of a corresponding deity and began as a degraded incantation driven solely by his thought-force. 4

Yu Chen cultivated it by reciting toward the great sun. A chance comprehension of the Great Sun's principle changed its light from an unstable mental defense into pale golden radiance that could suppress curses, yin souls, and negative forces. This proved decisive against the dying curse of the Mist Serpent Tribe's snake shaman and later against Bald Crow's death-tainted witchcraft. 4 22

After Yu Chen's divine soul formed, the mantra became a halo behind it and served as a stabilizing light in his sea of consciousness. It could keep the surface of that inner sea calm and reduce interference from his memories, but it could not fully eliminate deeper mental corruption or future external erosion. 27

Jin Guang later explained that the mantra could be cultivated through transmitting the Dao—bestowing part of one's source thought-power upon others—or receiving the Dao from a predecessor. Yu Chen subsequently developed the Golden Light Ruyi as a medium for transmission, teaching the mantra to Dong Ye, Yu Haoming, A Lu, and other recipients. 39 42 49 261

The Featherfolk Kingdom's exceptional compatibility with the mantra allowed it to alter practitioners' bloodlines, prompting the kingdom to spread it widely and attempt to seize authority over its bestowed source.
