After learning of Yun Feng and the Golden Dragon Spear, Ya Li travels with Zang Xin to the War God Hall in an attempt to meet her. Finding Yun Feng absent, she remains in Bright Capital until Yun Feng returns with her family. 12

At the Bright Capital Soul Train Station, Ya Li introduces herself to Yun Feng and instinctively sends life energy into her body. Yun Feng absorbs it completely, establishing the basis of their unusual connection. 13

Residence at the War God Hall

Ya Li proposes that major factions jointly nurture Yun Feng, arguing that her life energy can make Yun Feng's cultivation smoother. Although Yun Feng refuses to leave the War God Hall, Ya Li offers to remain there with her instead. 15 16

She moves into the room beside Yun Feng's and accepts Yun Feng's request to sleep beside her. Yun Ming supports the arrangement and agrees that they should treat Yun Feng as their daughter. 16 17

Having no children of her own, Ya Li explains that she felt an immediate connection with Yun Feng and wishes to care for her alongside her adoptive parents rather than replace them. She also hopes that remaining beside Yun Feng will help the girl develop affection for Shrek Academy. 16

When the platform destabilizes during Yun Feng's encounter with a ten-thousand-year Redflame Desolate Dragon, Ya Li urgently demands that the simulation be stopped. After Yun Feng is ejected, Ya Li immediately floods her with life energy and confronts Leng Yaozhu over the danger. 28

Following the incident, Ya Li temporarily returns to Shrek Academy, leaving her absent when Tang Wulin later suffers an emergency involving the Golden Dragon King seal. 30

Guarding Yun Feng's Interests

Ya Li warns Yun Feng that Qian Gu Dongfeng is calculating and untrustworthy after his attempts to win Yun Feng over to the Spirit Pagoda. 36

She continues to prioritize Yun Feng's safety during later cultivation, including the absorption of the six-thousand-year Dragon Snake spirit soul, where she remains prepared to intervene and immediately checks Yun Feng afterward. 40

During Yun Feng's visit to the Tang Sect, Ya Li explains the historical connection between the Golden Dragon Spear and Dragon Butterfly Douluo Tang Wutong. Search for Yun Feng

After Yun Feng secretly leaves the Spirit Pagoda to gain experience independently, Ya Li joins the War God Hall's discussions concerning her disappearance. She angrily holds the Spirit Pagoda responsible for failing to safeguard Yun Feng and presses Chen Xinjie for news of the Federation's search. 51

Ya Li had not accompanied Yun Feng on that Spirit Pagoda visit because relations between Shrek Academy and the Spirit Pagoda had worsened. 49

Devil Island Investigation and Reunion

When Yun Feng returns to Bright Capital after nearly three years, Ya Li's absence surprises Chen Xinjie. Guan Yue explains that the disappearance of Shrek Academy's seven seniors stationed on Devil Island has prevented her from leaving the academy. A later report announces that she will soon visit the War God Hall. 104 105 107

Ya Li eventually arrives with Yun Ming and warmly embraces Yun Feng, remarking on how much she has grown. She asks where Yun Feng has spent the intervening years while Yun Ming secretly investigates a possible connection between her and Devil Island's destruction. 122

Yun Ming detects no Destructive Power because Yun Feng has already refined it, leading him to conclude incorrectly that she was not responsible. Ya Li, unaware of the truth, is deeply relieved and embraces Yun Feng again. She and Chen Xinjie invite Yun Feng to Shrek Academy, where Yun Feng accepts a compensated position as a specially invited assessment instructor and responsibilities connected to selecting the Federation's Star Luo Empire exchange delegation. 123

Assessments and Return to Shrek Academy

Ya Li watches Yun Feng conduct the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Master Academy graduation assessment. Tang Wulin's powerful offensive use of life energy impresses both her and Yun Ming, prompting consideration of an apprenticeship. Upon learning that Qingyu Douluo has already accepted him as a disciple, Ya Li expresses regret but does not pursue the matter. 130

After the assessment, Yun Ming returns to Shrek Academy to prepare for its unusual use of an outside examiner, while Ya Li remains with Yun Feng at the War God Hall. When Bi Ji visits to guide Tang Wulin, the two healers exchange polite but pointed remarks without Yun Feng intervening. 131

Sea God's Fate Conference and Concern over Gu Yuena

At Shrek Academy, Ya Li brings Yun Feng, Xue Liushuang, and Gu Yuena to the Sea God's Fate Matchmaking Conference. When Inner Courtyard students publicly declare their love for Yun Feng, Ya Li attempts to soften her response. Yun Feng instead challenges the admirers to withstand her spiritual pressure for one minute, overwhelming them in less than ten seconds. 137

After Yun Feng leaves with Gu Yuena, Long Yeyue suggests that Yun Feng may be attracted to women. Ya Li is initially stunned, then reflects that she has never seen Yun Feng close to a man. 138
