Background / History

Zhao Ming was selected by a system in his previous life on Blue Star after saving a drowning child. Reborn on Douluo Continent, he received a defective system's initial package: a replica Treasure-Dropping Coin, a Mustard Seed Space, Nine-Breath Qi Absorption, and two prize wheels. The coin became his martial soul, while the space merged with his spiritual sea. 1

At age three, fallen spirit masters massacred his village and killed his parents. Zhao Ming survived when an Angel Legion squad killed the attackers; he and one other surviving child were sent to an orphanage. The rescue and vengeance provided by the angel spirit masters shaped his lasting gratitude toward Spirit Hall and the Angel Lineage, as well as his determination to destroy fallen spirit masters. 1 2

During three years in the orphanage, Nine-Breath Qi Absorption evolved his unawakened wooden-stick martial soul through wooden and iron whip forms into a Steel Whip. At Spirit Hall in Vast Sea City, he awakened the Steel Whip alongside the Treasure-Dropping Coin and was confirmed to possess innate full spirit power. 1

Bishop Tom recruited Zhao Ming into Spirit Hall and sponsored him with 3,000 gold soul coins. Zhao Ming used nearly all of it to acquire whale glue, which he refined to strengthen his body and raise his soul-ring absorption limits. After Qian Daoliu witnessed the Treasure-Dropping Coin, it absorbed Angel God divine power and part of the Angel Lineage's accumulated fortune. This condensed the coin's second soul ring, bestowed the Honesty or Contract Authority upon Zhao Ming, and awakened the Contract God godhood seed within Qian Daoliu. He strongly values repaying kindness. He joins Spirit Hall because Angel Legion soul masters saved him, helps support his orphanage, and chooses to support Qian Renxue after she treats him with directness and trust. His gratitude does not make him softhearted toward enemies.
