The Sea God was a longtime friend and fellow native of Douluo Continent to the fallen Angel God. Kindness God King entrusted him with safeguarding the Angel God's Divine Trial and finding a suitable inheritor for her divine position. 17

Rather than preserve the inheritance, Poseidon secretly stole part of the Angel God's Authority of Purification and infused his own divine power into the Divine Trial. The corruption had progressed deeply enough that an inheritor could receive an incomplete god position or potentially be controlled through Poseidon's divine-power connection. Nearly seventy percent of the purification authority had been siphoned away. 17 18

When Kindness God King came to reclaim the trial, Poseidon initially stalled with excuses. His use of Angel God's purification aura within his own azure divine power exposed the theft, forcing him to surrender the damaged trial and await judgment. 17 18

At the God Realm Council's trial, Poseidon admitted guilt. The final verdict reclaimed the stolen authority, abolished the cultivation he had gained while managing the trial, condemned him to eternal duty at the Forbidden Divine Land, and imposed one hundred Judgment Whip lashes personally administered by Kindness God King.
