Uther and Jaina looked at Rod in surprise at the same time.
Repair severed limbs? That was not something an ordinary Holy Light could accomplish!
Even a top-tier paladin like Uther could only use Holy Light to accelerate wound healing, cleanse filth, and treat illnesses. For completely missing limbs, at most it could stop the bleeding, ease the pain, and promote healing at the stump—it could not regrow a severed limb!
"Rod, what did you say?" Uther's voice was heavy with disbelief.
"Repair a severed leg? Are you sure?" He looked at the soldier lying on the ground, his face deathly pale and his consciousness blurred by agony and blood loss. Although Uther had temporarily stopped the bleeding with Holy Light, the mangled wound at the severed leg was horrifying to behold.
Jaina stared intently at Rod as well, her azure eyes filled with shock and curiosity. Just who was Rod?
That strange magic of his had already been surprising enough. Did he actually have an even more incredible magical artifact?
She understood the variety of mages' methods better than Uther did, but a magical artifact capable of regrowing severed limbs?
It was unheard of! Unless it was some ancient relic or... Jaina suddenly thought of the ancient legends of the Titan Keepers.
In this world, anything connected to antiquity had to be related either to the high elves or to those legendary Titan Keepers.
Just like Tyr, the one said to have protected humanity. Rumor had it that the human race had survived only because of that ancient guardian's protection.
Rod nodded calmly without further explanation. He walked over to the injured soldier and crouched beside him, ignoring the questioning looks of the surrounding soldiers.
His consciousness sank into the system as he selected the Medical Tent he had bought earlier from the Blacksmith in Necropolis City.
The next moment, a strange item appeared in Rod's hand.
It was not an exquisite staff as they had imagined, nor was it a glittering gemstone. Instead, it was an... extremely crude model!
It looked like a miniature tent pieced together from several thin supports and a few gray, weathered scraps of old linen.
It was only the size of a palm. At the top of the model was a faded little triangular flag bearing an extremely simple, crooked red cross.
The sight left everyone deeply disappointed. Come on, this was the magical artifact he had been talking about?
"Rod, are you sure? No matter how I look at it, this looks like an ordinary tent model! Are you sure it's an ancient magical artifact that can heal severed limbs?" Jaina looked at Rod speechlessly.
The other human soldiers, including Uther the paladin, wore equally disappointed expressions.
Come on! He had taken out a simple tent model and called it a miraculous magical artifact!
"Rod, did you take out the wrong thing? This just looks like a simple tent," Uther said.
This thing... rather than a powerful magical artifact, it looked more like a toy a child had made out of scraps picked up from a garbage heap. It gave off an indescribably shabby air.
"Don't underestimate it. Its effects will surpass your imagination. And there's no need to doubt it—it truly is a top-tier magical artifact. It just looks a little crude," Rod said with a smile.
There was no helping it. Some items from Heroes of Might and Magic truly did not have particularly impressive appearances, and this Medical Tent could only be described as crude.
"Deploy!"
At his low shout, the tiny tent model suddenly floated up from his hand! Its gray-white frame let out faint cracking sounds as it rapidly expanded and stretched at a visible rate!
The old linen scraps unfurled and enlarged along with it. The faded red-cross flag at the top of the tent grew larger as well, fluttering listlessly in the evening breeze.
In the blink of an eye, a real tent large enough to hold one person, covered in old white cloth, appeared before them!
This scene greatly astonished everyone present. They had not expected such a tiny model to turn into a real tent, though it still did nothing to change its shabby appearance.
At least now they could be certain that it was indeed a miraculous magical artifact.
"All right, you'll see its effects soon enough. Carry the wounded man inside." Rod pointed at the Medical Tent in front of him.
"Do as Rod says," Uther ordered in a deep voice.
The soldiers did not dare disobey. They carefully carried the continuously groaning Kalis into the tent. Once the wounded man entered, the cloth curtain at the entrance fell shut on its own as if it were alive.
Rod did not enter. Instead, he stood outside the tent, pressing his hands lightly against its gray cloth walls as he closed his eyes in concentration.
To outsiders, he appeared to be focusing on controlling the tent's power. In reality, he was activating the Medical Tent's healing function through the system interface, locking onto Kalis inside the tent as the target.
No one outside could see what was happening within the tent.
Yet after barely a dozen seconds, a soft pale green light filled with strange vitality suddenly burst forth from inside!
The light shone through the gaps in the gray cloth. It was not dazzling, yet it brimmed with vigorous life, like the purest life energy within a spring forest.
This life energy was completely different from the energy of Holy Light. Holy Light was sacred, powerful, and solemn, while life energy was loving, profound, and full of vitality.
Inside the tent, Kalis felt as if his entire body had been immersed in a warm spring. It was as though a gentle breeze had brushed over his face. The sensation was like lying in the woods on a spring day, so comfortable that it was almost unreal.
Rod could also see on the interface that the target had recovered 21 health points. Treatment complete. Every three hours in the outside world, the Medical Tent could heal one severely wounded unit.
The red-cross flag atop the tent swayed gently without any wind. Then the tent itself began to emit a faint white glow as it shrank and collapsed at a visible rate! A few seconds later, it had returned to the tiny Medical Tent model resting in Rod's palm.
Where the tent had vanished, Kalis lay on the ground, completely unharmed!
The place where his left leg had been severed was no longer a mangled, bloody wound. In its place was an intact leg with healthy-colored skin, even with visible muscle definition!
Other than being slightly pale, like the skin of a newborn baby, that leg was nearly identical to his right leg!
Though Kalis himself looked weak from the agony and exhaustion, he was conscious, his face filled with the dazed disbelief of someone who had narrowly escaped death.
He instinctively wriggled the toes of his newly regrown left foot, then tried bending and straightening his knee. The movements were somewhat stiff, but it truly moved!
"By the Holy Light..."
"Th-this is impossible?!"
"His leg... it really grew back!" The deathly silence shattered, and the camp erupted in uproar!
This miraculous magical artifact was simply incredible! Although it looked utterly unremarkable, its effects were absurdly powerful!
