Background / History

Jaina introduces herself to Rod as a mage from Kul Tiras and the daughter of the Alliance's Grand Admiral. She joins Arthas Menethil in investigating the Undead Plague near Andorhal, fighting beside Lordaeron soldiers against Scourge creatures. 6 7

During the investigation, Jaina initially fails to identify Kel'Thuzad as the former Kirin Tor Council of Six member, believing him to be a weaker necromancer with the same name. She later admits her mistake and offers to seek assistance from her mentor, Antonidas, though Arthas refuses Dalaran's intervention. 9

After Andorhal, she continues with Arthas and Rod through Hearthglen and toward Stratholme. She leaves Hearthglen by teleportation to seek Uther's reinforcements, then later joins Rod and Uther in leaving Arthas after he resolves to purge Stratholme. 17 26

Jaina is intensely inquisitive and academically driven. Rod's ability to wield both arcane magic and the Holy Light overturns her understanding of magical theory, prompting persistent questions and plans to write a major thesis on the subject. 8
