Silver Hand Warhammer

A few minutes later, the three ordinary Faceless Ones fell under the group's combined assault.

The group continued onward and soon reached a massive central burial chamber. A huge altar stood there, upon which rested an enormous warhammer roughly ten meters long, ancient in design and etched with archaic runes.

The moment they saw the warhammer, the Tyr's Guard around them grew extremely excited, for this was the legendary weapon of the Keepers of Tyr.

"We've arrived, Lord Uther. Ahead is Tyr's altar, and the weapon placed upon it is the one you seek—the Silver Hand Warhammer," said the leader of the Tyr's Guard.

At the sight of such a gigantic weapon, the other paladins and Uther all cast questioning looks. Could they really use it?

Though Lord Uther was a towering man, he was only about two meters tall. Asking him to wield a warhammer nearly ten meters long was a little too absurd.

For an ordinary human to lift it would be like asking a one-year-old child to pick up a warhammer over two meters long—perhaps even more exaggerated than that.

"My God, this is the legendary weapon of the Keepers of Tyr! Just as the ancient records said, the Keepers of Tyr were all gigantic giants," Jaina said, recounting some ancient records from Dalaran.

"Rod, are you sure I can use this weapon?" Uther asked doubtfully.

"Don't worry, Lord Uther. Just go up and pick up the warhammer.

"It's a weapon forged with Titan technology. Once it recognizes you, it will transform into a size you can use," Rod said confidently.

"Lord Uther, Lord Rod is right. Just go and earn the warhammer's recognition. It will become a suitable size for you," said the leader of the Keepers of Tyr.

Uther nodded and prepared to step forward and touch the sacred warhammer, but at that moment, a surge of shadow power emerged within the chamber.

A monster roughly six meters tall appeared, its entire body covered in disgusting tentacles.

"Everyone, be careful! This is a Faceless One created by the Old Gods. It's different from the ones we just faced," the Tyr's Guard immediately warned upon seeing the monster.

Unlike the three Faceless Ones they had encountered earlier, this one was far larger and radiated far more terrifying shadow energy.

Those three Faceless Ones had merely been formed from the residual shadow energy left behind after the Faceless One general Zakaz's death. This one had clearly been sent by the Old Gods to protect him.

"Prepare for battle, paladins!"

"Great Holy Light, protect us!"

Uther took the lead, raising his warhammer and charging forward.

In this battle, Uther led a group of paladins alongside the Tyr's Guard at the front, serving as tanks. The ordinary Lordaeron soldiers were relegated to minor support, mostly clearing lesser enemies. They had no business fighting powerful Faceless Ones.

Rod's gaze sharpened. He noticed two more Faceless Ones appearing in the shadows behind the altar, gathering even stronger shadow energy. Their target was clearly Jaina, who was casting a spell!

Rod had been taking it easy throughout the battle, only using Flash of Light now and then, so he had drawn little aggro.

The female mage, on the other hand, had been constantly unleashing powerful frost magic, making her the target of these Faceless Ones.

"Watch out, Jaina!" Rod shouted in a low voice, releasing the Magic Arrow he had prepared long ago!

Boom!

A dazzling bolt of blue lightning tore through the darkness with a shriek that split the air, striking the chest of a Faceless One that was gathering power with perfect precision!

Its hardened shell exploded like paper before the sheer destructive force of heroic magic, sending purple-black flesh and slime flying everywhere!

The Faceless One let out an incomparably shrill soul-piercing scream. Its enormous body was hurled backward and slammed heavily into the altar's base, but unfortunately, the blow still failed to kill it.

"Thanks, Rod!" Jaina said, still shaken. If Rod had not warned her just now, she might well have been hit by a shadow spell.

Rod nodded at Jaina and raised his hand, casting two group protection spells—Shield of Protection and Stone Skin—which covered nearly everyone present.

With Rod's magical protection, the paladins fought even more fiercely beneath their own Divine Shields.

After gaining a bit more strength, the Magic Arrow he cast had reached forty points of damage, yet it had still failed to take down his opponent.

The Faceless Ones were far more powerful than ordinary abominations.

The other Faceless One let out a terrifying cackle and released bead-like shadow spells from both hands. Rod immediately cast Divine Shield on himself, along with Arcane Shield.

The pitch-black shadow shockwave crashed viciously against Rod's Divine Shield. The Arcane Shield rippled violently, its light flickering unsteadily, but it ultimately did not shatter and successfully protected Rod.

"Blizzard!" "Ice Lance!"

Massive ice clouds condensed out of thin air beneath the cavern ceiling, and countless sharp ice lances came howling down like meteors!

The ice lances carried not only physical force but also bone-chilling frost magic energy. They engulfed the sluggish Faceless Ones, shattering their shells, freezing their slime, and making them howl without end.

Uther charged forward like a golden war god. With every swing of his warhammer, Divine Storm surged forth, completely purifying a Faceless One already badly wounded by Blizzard and the Tyr's Guard into a pile of charred remains.

At this moment, Uther's entire body was infused with the power of the Holy Light. Its tremendous power dealt fierce damage to the shadow creatures around him.

This Faceless One sent by the Old Gods was indeed powerful, but it was facing Uther, the strongest paladin among mankind today.

Had this Faceless One appeared elsewhere, it could have instantly killed a large number of paladins. Unfortunately, it was facing Uther the Lightbringer.

Very quickly, the Faceless One could no longer withstand the group's assault. The shadow power on its body was constantly driven away by the mighty Holy Light.

Rod seized the final moment and directly released Magic Arrow at the Faceless One, snatching the final kill.

The enormous Faceless One let out a scream, and its body completely dissipated.

"We did it! We killed it."

"This servant of the Old Gods died by our hands." Everyone wore excited expressions.

"Lord Uther, go pick up the Silver Hand Warhammer!" Rod said as he approached Uther.

Uther nodded, then took a deep breath and stepped forward. At this moment, the Holy Light deep in his heart was also calling to him, calling for him to pick up this legendary warhammer.

The instant Uther touched the warhammer, sacred radiance illuminated the entire burial chamber, and the Silver Hand Warhammer reacted violently.

The Silver Hand Warhammer rapidly shrank, becoming a size suitable for Uther.

Uther then raised the warhammer high overhead.
