"We should begin as well!" Uther stepped forward first, pressing both hands toward the Shadow Crystal. A surging force of Holy Light erupted from his palms like a tangible torrent, instantly enveloping the Shadow Crystal.

Rod followed close behind, likewise drawing upon the Holy Light within him. A slightly immature yet equally pure pillar of golden light flowed into it.

Although Jaina could not provide Holy Light, she could wield arcane energy, forming a stable arcane force field that firmly sealed the Holy Light and the Shadow Crystal in place, preventing dangerous energy leakage.

"Servants of the Holy Light, purify this darkness!" Rod shouted. At his mental command, the ten Holy Light Elementals floating nearby responded at once.

They transformed into ten radiant pillars of golden light, revolving rapidly around the Shadow Crystal to form a sacred halo. Even purer and fiercer Holy Light poured from them like golden lava, continuously striking the crystal's core.

"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle—!!!"

The Shadow Crystal shuddered violently as though it were alive. A cold, despairing shadow will filled with hatred suddenly erupted, attempting to resist the Holy Light's assault. This was the last remnant of the Faceless Ones general.

Thick, ink-black shadow energy poured madly from within the crystal, clashing fiercely with the golden torrent of Holy Light and annihilating each other!

The light around the camp instantly dimmed, as though even the bonfires had been suppressed by this utter darkness. The paladins present all stepped up beside Uther and Rod, unleashing their Holy Light together.

"Put more power into it! The stronger its resistance, the purer the shadow in its core. Once purified, its light will shine all the brighter!" Rod said.

The purest shadow would become even more powerful Holy Light when converted.

"Great Holy Light! Purify evil!" Uther's voice was as steadfast as stone, echoing in everyone's hearts. The Holy Light around him blazed even more intensely, as though he were about to merge with it.

Rod gritted his teeth. He could feel his mana rapidly draining away, while the Holy Light poured forth like floodwaters through an opened dam.

The ten Holy Light Elementals in the forms of young women also began to blur amid the struggle. Their power was being consumed at a terrifying rate. The Holy Light Elementals, which should have lasted for twenty-four hours, exhausted all their Holy Light in barely over ten minutes and vanished outright.

And after the Time Light Elementals disappeared, the purification of the shadow energy actually stalled. The shadow energy in the crystal's core seemed ready to strike back and drive out the Holy Light within it.

"Lord Uther, stop for a while and let the other paladins take over. We'll summon another ten Holy Light Elementals," Rod said.

Uther did not hesitate in the slightest. He nodded and immediately used magic scrolls with Rod once again, summoning ten Holy Light Elementals.

The Holy Light Elementals summoned powerful Holy Light, while Rod and Uther returned to the purification effort. This was a pure tug-of-war between Holy Light and shadow.

The Holy Light was like blazing fire in a furnace, seeking to burn away every impurity and every trace of darkness within the crystal. The shadow, meanwhile, was like stubborn iron, struggling and counterattacking wildly as it released its last reserves of shadow energy.

Time seemed to lose all meaning amid the fierce confrontation. After an unknown length of time, the Shadow Crystal's resistance began to weaken. Its piercing shrieks turned into unwilling wails, while the shadowy tentacles and phantom wraiths it released vanished in great swathes beneath the Holy Light's searing blaze, like melting snow.

Finally, when the last stubborn trace of shadow was completely pierced by the Holy Light jointly poured forth by Rod, Uther, the many paladins, and the ten Holy Light Elementals, condensed into a single point of ultimate brilliance—

"Hum—!"

A clear, lingering hum replaced every other sound!

The black Shadow Crystal seemed to reach the final moment of purification in the furnace. Countless fine golden cracks suddenly lit up across its surface! Then, dazzling, warm golden light burst forth from within!

"Crack!"

A soft shattering sound rang out. The crystal's stubborn outer shell of black armor peeled away piece by piece like an eggshell and dissipated.

What remained was no longer the ominous shadow core of an Old God servant, but a Holy Light Crystal roughly the size of a fist—spotlessly pure, perfectly formed, and radiating sacred golden light!

Like a miniature sun, it hovered silently above the stone platform, driving away all chill and darkness. The camp was illuminated by its warm glow, brighter and even more sacred than the bonfires.

That negative will, which had made souls tremble, vanished without a trace. In its place was a tranquil, peaceful, and hope-filled sense of sanctity.

Jaina let out a breath of relief. A tired yet excited smile appeared on her face as she slowly withdrew the arcane cage. The pure aura of Holy Light spread through the air, leaving everyone feeling refreshed.

"By the Holy Light..." One paladin could not help but drop to one knee and pray devoutly.

Rod and Uther slowly withdrew their power. Both men were pale from the tremendous expenditure, while the ten Holy Light Elementals became illusory and transparent after delivering that final purifying strike, as if they could dissipate at any moment.

They circled the newly born golden crystal several times. Their light grew gentler, as though they were offering a final blessing and farewell, before turning into specks of golden starlight and completely merging into the air. Their power had already become part of the purified Holy Light Crystal.

For some reason, Rod always felt as though these Holy Light Elementals were alive.

Looking at the incomparably pure Holy Light Crystal before him, Rod knew he had succeeded. Beings of Holy Light such as the Naaru could be converted into shadow entropy demons.

Then the residual Shadow Crystal left behind by an Old God general capable of defeating Titan Keepers head-on could likewise be converted into the purest power of Holy Light.

"Looks like we succeeded!" Rod said.

"Th-this... is pure crystallized Holy Light?" Uther reached out, carefully approaching the floating golden crystal. Intense heat filled with the power of Holy Light reached his fingertips. This Holy Light Crystal contained tremendous power.

"Yes, Lord Uther. Zakaz's shadow energy has been completely transformed. It is no longer shadow, but a gift from the Holy Light."

Uther nodded at those words. It seemed that his understanding of the Holy Light fell short of Alexandros's.

Alexandros could comprehend that ultimate shadow was ultimate Holy Light, yet he himself had failed to grasp it.

Rod's gaze turned to Strom'kar, the Warbreaker beside them.

"Then the next step is to unite it with the Emperor's weapon. We need a master with extraordinary skill, someone capable of merging the Emperor's divine weapon with the Holy Light Crystal," Rod said.

Unlike Ashbringer, this weapon did not need to be completely reforged in the furnace.

They only needed to make an opening in the hilt and place this Holy Light core inside.
