Arthas's expression changed at those words. Kel'Thuzad, that evil necromancer, had once been a member of Dalaran's Kirin Tor Council of Six.

Who were the Kirin Tor Council of Six? Every one of them was among Dalaran's greatest archmages.

They possessed magical attainments far beyond mortal imagination! Why would someone like that commit such atrocities?

And how did this Mr. Rod know about Kel'Thuzad?

Even Jaina did not know about this—or had Jaina deceived him?

Was it to protect Dalaran's dignity?

That was why she had not told him Kel'Thuzad's identity. If he truly had been a member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six,

there was no way Jaina would not recognize him! Even if his appearance had changed, he had introduced himself by name!

Arthas looked at Jaina, his eyes filled with confusion and a trace of disappointment.

"Jaina! Is what Mr. Rod said true?"

Rod, riding alongside them, merely wore an expression of someone enjoying a show. If only he had a camera in hand. The future infamous Lich King now looked like a young boyfriend who had been fooled by his girlfriend's sweet words!

"Kel'Thuzad really was once a member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six. I'm sorry, Arthas.

"I truly did not recognize him at first. I even thought it was merely someone with the same name! I never imagined he was actually Kel'Thuzad," Jaina said, feeling somewhat guilty.

In truth, when he had announced his name, she had suspected it. But the way he had been dressed at the time!

And the magic he had displayed made it impossible for her to associate him with the powerful archmage and member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six.

There was no other reason. He had simply been too weak!

After seeing her and Arthas, he had not even cast a single arcane spell. He had merely released an undead creature, then immediately fled in a miserable state.

Jaina had thought he was only an evil necromancer with the same name.

"Mr. Rod, how did you learn that information about Kel'Thuzad?"

"Isn't that obvious? He introduced himself, and he was able to leave calmly right in front of the two of you. With that kind of strength, he had to be Kel'Thuzad!

"At the time, I sensed the immense magical power within him and did not even dare make a move. Only after he left did I dare step in and save you." Rod shrugged and began spouting nonsense with a perfectly serious face.

In truth, Kel'Thuzad had already retreated by the time Rod arrived.

"How about this, Arthas? I'll return to Dalaran immediately and ask my mentor, Archmage Antonidas, for help. I'll have him send people to deal with Kel'Thuzad," Jaina said.

To be honest, she was not confident about facing a former member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six.

With their group alone, it was hard to say whether they could win.

She had once heard her teacher say that, before Kel'Thuzad had been expelled from Dalaran, he had been Dalaran's second greatest mage, surpassed only by Antonidas.

During the Second War, he had witnessed the evil undead magic of Orc warlocks and become obsessed with necromancy. He had been expelled from the Dalaran Citadel for researching necromancy.

"No! Jaina, I will deal with this man personally!" Arthas said.

As the prince of Lordaeron, he had his own pride. This criminal who had harmed the people of another nation

had to be executed by his own hand, not handed over to Dalaran's Citadel for Judgment.

If Dalaran sent people, then even if Kel'Thuzad was defeated, he would be taken away by Dalaran rather than Judged by Lordaeron.

"Actually, I think the three of us should be able to handle him together. My magic is extremely powerful. As long as it hits him, it can kill him," Rod said.

"Mr. Rod is right. Jaina, don't worry! We will certainly win. Mr. Rod has mastered both arcane magic and the Holy Light. He will definitely help us defeat Kel'Thuzad," Arthas said.

No matter what, Dalaran could not be allowed to interfere in this matter. This was Lordaeron's internal affair, not a diplomatic issue.

Jaina did not say anything more and merely nodded silently. Arthas was still too proud—proud as ever!

That night, everyone rested in the wilderness together. Rod was assigned a tent of his own.

Only Arthas, the mage Jaina, and Rod had individual tents. The other soldiers had to crowd together.

During the evening rest, the soldiers brought Rod a serving of wild mushroom soup and some baked bread, allowing him to eat his first meal since crossing over.

Before eating, Rod first shone a Holy Light spell over it. If there was any Undead Plague, the Holy Light could dispel it immediately.

Arthas and the mage stared at this in surprise.

"As the saying goes, better safe than sorry. And this is Cult of the Damned territory. There's nothing wrong with being cautious. I used a Holy Light spell to test it because I'm worried that the surrounding land may have been corrupted by the Cult of the Damned's evil magic. The food we eat might contain plague as well," Rod said.

"Mr. Rod is right. We really should be more careful," Arthas said with a nod. He also cast a Holy Light spell over everyone's food. Only after confirming it was safe did he allow the soldiers to begin eating.

After that little incident, everyone drifted off to sleep. Rod slept soundly, but Arthas and the mage remained awake all night.

Arthas was worried about Kel'Thuzad. Whether or not you are a member of the Kirin Tor Council of Six, if you dare harm the people of Lordaeron, I will kill you.

For Lordaeron! I cannot disappoint my father or Uther.

From time to time, Jaina glanced toward Rod's tent.

The mage dearly wanted to go over and learn spellcasting techniques from this master who commanded both the Holy Light and arcane magic.

Yet for some reason, he seemed extremely distant toward her. It was the first time the mage had doubted her own charm.

Even a high elf prince who had lived for a thousand years would teach her magical knowledge without reservation as long as she acted cute and coquettish.

The others in Dalaran were the same, but this time alone, she had hit a wall.

The night passed without incident.

Early the next morning, the first thing Rod did after waking was open the system's city interface. Due to the City Hall's effect, his gold had increased by 1,000 units, while all other resources remained unchanged.

Rod nodded in satisfaction. He then spent 2,000 units of gold, 5 units of wood, and 5 units of ore to construct a level-one Mage Guild.

Five random spells. Let's see what I get!
