On the morning of the last day of term, the entire school bustled noisily as everyone packed their luggage.
In the Ravenclaw dormitory, Hoffa's roommates practically turned the room upside down. They were forgetful and absentminded, mixing up their own socks and underwear with those of their friends. Large trunks were piled high throughout the room.
Hoffa did not have much luggage. Just as when he had arrived, he carried only a black canvas bag, ready to travel light.
But when he stepped out of the common room, Hoffa realized that leaving the school easily would not be so simple.
In the common room, Argeleia looked gloomily at a trunk taller than she was. Miranda was dragging two large trunks as well.
The moment Hoffa showed himself, he sensed trouble. He tried to use the Disillusionment Charm to sneak out of the common room.
But Miranda caught sight of him from the corner of her eye and lazily flicked her wand.
An inexplicable force shoved Hoffa right in front of the two girls.
"Ha, Hoffa, you came at just the right time," Argeleia said. "There's a job here that suits you."
"I refuse," Hoffa said without a second thought.
"Refusal denied," Argeleia said. "The first thing a European boy needs to learn is how to carry bags for girls."
"I'm not European. And what you're describing is a slave, thank you."
Miranda said, "Hoffa, you might end up alone for the rest of your life like this."
