Background
Li Mo begins as Hei Wa, a child selected alongside his cousins Li Qingfang and Li Zhuang. He chooses the Calligraphy and Painting category because his Eidetic Memory gives him an advantage in its antique-related knowledge. 3
After leaving the Calligraphy and Painting Hall, he witnesses the brutality of the cultivation world in Smelting Town and becomes determined to gain strength rather than remain vulnerable. 8 His early cultivation develops around a self-created circulation method: one stream of spiritual power cycles through his Middle Dantian for refinement, while another draws in ownerless spiritual energy. His Leakless Body prevents waste and accidents. 14
He later becomes associated with the Ziqi Sect through the Primordial Acquired Dao Body. A Clay Sculpture instinctively kneels before him, suggesting the body’s link to the sect and its deeper inheritance. 48
Appearance
Li Mo’s appearance changes repeatedly through cultivation, body modification, Dao Body manifestations, and deliberate disguises. He can alter his facial features surgically, conceal his aura, and pass as a frail old man, a herb gatherer, or a sword cultivator. 244 245 282
- In his cultivated form, he exceeds three meters in height, bears roaming tattoo patterns, possesses one yin eye and one yang eye, and has a smoke-emitting Grotto-Heaven Divine Eye on his forehead. 383
- A seven-colored halo can appear behind his head when his Buddhist and Dao Body powers are active. 383 412
- His body can grow to monstrous sizes through Tattooed Beast Transformation and body cultivation, reaching one hundred meters during his battle with Fen Li. 436
- His Dao Bodies can manifest as Yin-Yang Twin Fish, Eight Trigrams, stars within his eyes, and Tattooed Beast phantoms. 412
- His New and Old Skin artifact has a defensive Yang side resembling an ordinary Daoist robe and a concealing Yin side resembling decayed hemp clothing. 282
Personality
Li Mo is pragmatic, patient, and intensely focused on survival and cultivation. He avoids needless conflict when it interferes with his goals, but he does not hesitate to kill, dissect enemies for resources, or absorb corpses into Corpse Mountain when doing so benefits his path. 205 248 290
His ruthlessness is paired with exceptional adaptability. He creates temporary arms when conventional multi-limb modification is unsuitable, develops his own Magnetic Light Nascent Soul Primordial Scripture, and repeatedly uses combat, Death Sickness, and dangerous environments as opportunities to temper himself. 92 285 517 538
Despite his severity, Li Mo protects people he recognizes as his own. He ensures Li Qingfang and Li Zhuang benefit from his rising status, treats injured Artifact Cultivators without discrimination, assists Han Cai’s possible advancement, and prepares the Fortune Sect for his eventual departure. 72 197 335 552
