Background / History

Xu Fei rose from a mountain youth to become Great Yin's renowned outsider king, winning and defending his territory through war. Emperor Jiaguang granted him his title and bestowed the residence's Blood-Sweat Dragon Steeds. 2 46 116

After his princess consort died, Xu Fei was left with his only biological child, Xu Ling Sha. To ensure her protection and support, he took in trusted children of old household soldiers as foster sons, including Xu Yan, whose parents were killed by baleful spirits in the Ten-Thousand Mang Mountains. 1 117

At Cliff Sea, Xu Fei recognized Xu Yan's rare Formless constitution and initially considered a scholarly or official career for him when no apertures opened.
