Power Progression
The Spirit Tamer Alliance identifies the following monster progression path. Advancement to World-Class Wanted Boss is fueled by killing humans and Contract Spirits 127.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Minion | 127 | Starting category in the Alliance’s documented progression sequence. |
| Elite Monster | 127 | Stage preceding Dungeon Bosses. |
| One- to Five-Star Dungeon Boss | 127 | Dungeon Boss tiers preceding Abyss Dungeon Bosses. |
| Abyss Dungeon Boss | 127 | Can become a Raid Boss after breaking out of its dungeon space. |
| Raid Boss | 127 | More powerful and unrestricted outside the dungeon; can nourish itself by killing humans and Contract Spirits. |
| World-Class Wanted Boss | 20 127 | A Raid Boss can evolve into this category through continued slaughter; worldwide bounty qualification also requires at least one million human kills and an undefeated record. |
- Not all documented origins follow an ordinary dungeon career: War was born from humanity’s wars, while Tyrant was formerly the human researcher Chen Yan 244 324.
- A later category exists: Chapter 370 announces the arrival of God-Class Bosses, but does not establish that every World-Class Wanted Boss evolves into one 370.
Qualification and Lifespan
World-Class Wanted Bosses are ranked by their accumulated victims rather than by a single shared level. Ancient survivors can have more than a hundred million deaths attributed to them 20.
| Mechanic | Details |
|---|---|
| Worldwide bounty | Qualifying bosses become targets of international hunts 20. |
| Lifespan replenishment | Large-scale slaughter replenishes the lifespan needed to remain in the world 153. |
| Alternative missions | Missions that threaten humanity’s safety also grant lifespan, though in smaller amounts and generally with less risk 153. |
| Compulsory assignments | Puppet was forcibly summoned from a secret realm for an unusual mission involving Xia Yuan 280. |
| Shared objectives | Five otherwise antagonistic bosses gathered at Kunlun because they had received the same timed mission 281. |
Mei Mei preferred lower-risk missions after growing tired of centuries of slaughter. Her case shows that a holder can live among humans and form genuine friendships without escaping the designation’s demands 153.
Abilities & Skills
Concealment and Infiltration
World-Class Wanted Bosses can hide their boss markers, assume ordinary human appearances, and live within human society 20.
- Everyday identities: Dantai Yanan deliberately avoided standing out and maintained the appearance of an ordinary office worker 259.
- Contract Spirit disguise: Lord of True Words concealed himself as House Mu’s founding Contract Spirit, the Edict Demon Lord. His apparent SSR level-100 marker changed into a World-Class Bounty Boss warning when exposed 210.
- Detection limits: Xia Yuan initially accused the World Peace Tavern owner using his True Eye, but later acknowledged that the owner’s true name and identity appeared valid; the suspicious discrepancy involved another method 99 142.
- Large-area searches: Formation resonance combined with Xia Yuan’s Star of Creation and Destruction detected five genuine boss signatures in Kunlun City 280.
Dungeon Domains and Rule-Based Powers
Individual holders possess distinct domains and abilities; these are not interchangeable powers shared by the entire category.
| Holder | Demonstrated Ability |
|---|---|
| Yellow Springs Burial | Unleashes a dungeon domain filled with red spider lilies and lethal threads; one flower’s explosion flattened an area described as a hundred miles in radius 173 175. |
| Future | Uses time barriers and repeated time resets; remained unable to overcome Xia Yuan after twenty-three attempts 181 192. |
| Justice | Uses Immunity to All Techniques to nullify Contract Spirit skills, then overwhelms defenders physically 219. |
| Order | Creates an Order and Prohibition domain in which attacks against him trigger damage reflection 263. |
| Lord of True Words | Issues supernatural verbal commands, including forced kneeling and a word of death 210. |
| Witch | Uses Imaginary Space to remove herself and Princess from the battlefield 354. |
| Priest | Uses Made in Heaven to accelerate time by a hundred years 370. |
Durability and Survival
World-Class Wanted Bosses possess enormous health reserves, commonly divided into multiple health bars. Emptying one bar does not necessarily defeat them 271.
- Regeneration through dispersal: Abyssal Whisper attempted to escape as countless streams of thought; a single surviving stream would have allowed it to be reborn 192.
- Spatial escape: Void Weaver could tear open a rift and retreat into the void 192.
- Exceptional defenses: Stalker’s horn withstood War God’s full-strength Golden Dharmic Form attack without a visible mark 363.
- Limits: Xia Yuan annihilated Abyssal Whisper’s fragments and forcibly pulled Void Weaver out of its rift before killing it 192.
Threat Level and Alliance Response
- Beyond ordinary SSR raids: The Ice Soul Queen warns that even a top-tier SSR leading max-level SRs may fail against one 20.
- T0 teams are not assured victory: Multiple top-tier SSRs could not guarantee defeating Ultimate Terror. Yellow Springs Burial had previously wiped out a T0 team and later forced another team of max-level SSRs to retreat 155 175.
- National-scale danger: World-Class Wanted Bosses are described as capable of destroying small countries. Three appearing together at the Spirit Tamer Great Wall were considered a nation-destroying lineup 240 318.
- Emergency protocols: The Alliance responds to appearances with evacuation orders, requests for its highest-level support, and analysis of the boss’s domain and skills 173 175.
- Large differences within the category: Princess defeated Feng Luan, while Stalker overwhelmingly outmatched War God. Ordinary holders do not represent the category’s upper limit 285 300 363.
Organization and Factions
Independent Operations
Most World-Class Wanted Bosses prefer to operate alone. Joint action was originally exceptional because ordinary Contract Spirits did not warrant it 163 214.
- Tyrant and Decay became partners after fighting for three days and nights without a victor 245.
- Unfamiliar bosses can be openly hostile toward one another, even when pursuing the same prey 240 281.
- Xia Yuan’s repeated victories pushed previously isolated holders into alliances for protection 213.
World Peace Tavern Network
- The tavern owner, Lord of Emotions, convened other bosses through remotely projected avatars after Ultimate Terror’s defeat 163 192.
- The participants agreed to eliminate Xia Yuan before he reached maximum level 163.
- Future, Lord of Emotions, Taotie, Abyssal Whisper, and Void Weaver later coordinated an encirclement of the Alliance command center 181.
Peace Faction and Non-Hostile Holders
- Mei Mei described herself as a prominent example of the monsters’ Peace Faction 214.
- Cradle claimed to seek peaceful coexistence and warned Feng Luan that an ancient Deep Sea entity was directing the invasion 361.
- Witch disdained factions and usually acted as an observer. She nevertheless intervened against Princess on Xia Yuan’s behalf 352 354.
Holy Maiden Church
- Several Seven Deadly Sins bishops hold the designation, including Wrath, Pride, Greed, and Sloth 340 344.
- Gluttony and Envy were identified as Church archbishops after their deaths 293 296.
- The archbishops were considered stronger than ordinary World-Class Wanted Bosses 296.

- Capture is possible: The four emotion maids surrendered their energy cores to Xia Yuan and became his servants 192.
- Defeat need not remain permanent: Future was later revived without her original powers 201.
Major Developments
| Chapter | Development |
|---|---|
| 99 | The Golden City disaster is revealed as an organized attempt by World-Class Wanted Bosses to eliminate Great Xia’s next generation of Contract Spirit Masters. |
| 161 | Ultimate Terror’s solo defeat overturns the assumption that no single Contract Spirit can kill a holder. |
| 181 192 | The five-boss encirclement fails; Xia Yuan kills Taotie, Abyssal Whisper, Void Weaver, and Lord of Emotions, then subjugates the emotion maids. |
| 244 245 | An apparent restoration of Tyrant’s family and removal of his boss status is subsequently revealed to have been a dream, not a confirmed reversal of the designation. |
| 295 | Xia Yuan defeats six bosses in the Kunlun incident and restores the city, leaving no civilian deaths or lasting building damage. |
| 300 | Great Xia announces that all World-Class Wanted Bosses hidden within its borders have been found and eliminated. |
| 360 | Xia Yuan completes an unprecedented victory over eight holders at Evernight City. |
| 370 | Lin Wan’s tally reaches fifteen World-Class Wanted Bosses defeated by Xia Yuan during her failed operation. The Priest then accelerates time, and a global announcement schedules God-Class Boss arrivals in three days. |
