Background / History

The Primordial World was born after Pangu died and transformed into all things, including its mountains, rivers, and celestial bodies. Feng Yue witnessed this process and accelerated Pangu's transformation with his own power. He subsequently restored the newborn world using the laws of the Three Thousand Great Daos, enriching its space-time structure. Pangu's primordial spirit split into three portions, his blood essence became Zhou Mountain, and portions of his merit became spiritual treasures. 69 70

At its birth, the world occupied the center of Chaos and was vastly smaller than Feng Yue's true body; he believed a single step from him could pierce it. Chaos-born beings reduced their forms before entering so as not to accidentally damage it. 70 75

Over time, the world developed divine and immortal mountains, spiritual mountains, auspicious phenomena, and its first generation of innate beings. Many early innate gods and demons were reincarnations of Chaos Demon Gods, while primordial ferocious beasts arose from the resentment, hostility, and baleful qi of fallen Demon Gods mixed with the world's innate spiritual power. 71

Feng Yue further altered its development by bringing the Dragon, Phoenix, Qilin, Witch, Demon, and Human races from other time-space dimensions, intending to make seven major powers—including the Ferocious Beast race—compete for supremacy. The world's newly forming rules initially suppressed the transplanted races' emergence. 78 79

Laws and Structure

• Heavenly Dao — Emerged as the world's governing order, bringing rules and restraints to its inhabitants. Feng Yue describes it as a system governing the cycles and rotations of heaven and earth, formed from the world's origin. 77 80 81
• Three Thousand Great Daos/Laws — Feng Yue used their laws to restore the world. Later accounts describe Chaos gradually clarifying into the Three Thousand Great Daos, which became the world's Three Thousand Laws. 70 160

Ferocious Beast Calamity

The first great calamity began when ferocious beasts awakened across the world's poles. Their race inherited the legacy and lingering will of Chaos Demon Gods, and its leaders sought to destroy the sun, moon, mountains, and rivers to restore Chaos. 79

Struggle of the Seven Powers

Feng Yue deliberately arranged a contest for supremacy among the Ferocious Beasts, Dragons, Phoenixes, Qilins, Witches, Demons, and Humans. His stated goal was to prevent the world from declining into a future of repeated destruction and depleted spiritual energy. 78 79

The resulting political order was unstable: the Human, Demon, and Witch factions fought for dominance, while later conflicts involved the Dragon Clan's intervention on humanity's side and warfare among multiple major clans. 144 146 153

Strange Beast and Monster Crisis

In a later crisis, increasingly numerous strange beasts and monsters spread through the world. They were described as elementally formed, immortal, highly intelligent beings able to use the Dao of Space, traverse the void, and target the destruction of the entire Primordial World. 172

• Their expansion damaged the environment, thinning spiritual energy, drying soil, lowering temperatures, and slowing the growth of living things. 172
• The myriad races prepared a counterattack through the Pattern Formation, a formation intended to turn the Primordial World itself into a formation domain for its defenders. 172
• The Primordial Spirit Venerable later used a trapping formation and a feigned opening to draw beasts and demons into a decisive confrontation. 173
