Appearance
Taiyi's true divine-beast form is a three-legged Golden Crow. When assuming an innate Dao body, he wears a golden feathered crown and a gold Daoist robe patterned with flames, projecting an imperial and domineering presence 111.

- Golden Daoist robe covered in flame patterns 111.
- Later manifests an avatar wielding a pitch-black spear during his awakening 132.
Personality
Taiyi is impatient, combative, and dismissive of ceremony. He resents being asked to show deference to Solar Zhuzhao, calling established customs “superstition,” and Di Jun considers him poorly suited to negotiation or wielding authority within a group 111 125.
Despite this bluntness, he is strongly attached to his autonomy. During his identity crisis, Taiyi repeatedly rejects the idea that he is a puppet, ultimately defining his will and true heart as proof that he is a being with thoughts and feelings 132. Once he regains that certainty, he becomes markedly ruthless toward enemies, absorbing defeated cultivators' souls to strengthen himself 132.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Sun Star and Solar Zhuzhao
Taiyi and Di Jun emerge from seclusion after reaching the peak Great Luo realm. At Di Jun's request, Taiyi brings a Fusang Fruit to Solar Zhuzhao, an elder Sun Star divine beast who took form a kalpa before them. Zhuzhao refuses to receive him, and Taiyi returns dissatisfied but cheerful to Di Jun 111.
Founding the Demon Clan
Taiyi accompanies Di Jun in recruiting powerful figures for their proposed Demon Clan. He shows little patience for Bai Ze's value as an administrator, preferring to resolve matters through force, while Di Jun frames the future structure: Di Jun as Demon Emperor, Taiyi as Demon Sovereign, and Kunpeng Ancestor as Demon Venerable 125 126.
Conflicts with the Twelve Ancestral Witches and Bai Ze
Taiyi and Di Jun are surrounded after passing over Zhou Mountain, leading to a confrontation with the Twelve Ancestral Witches. Taiyi duels Di Jiang and wins by using the Chaos Bell 129.
He later battles Bai Ze atop Kunlun Mountain for over 60,000 years without a clear victor. Taiyi attempts to compel Bai Ze's submission, but Bai Ze's jade body and regenerative capabilities prevent an easy defeat 130. Bai Ze subsequently threatens to use the Heart of Taiyi, described as a Zombie Heart, to corrode Taiyi's body 131.
Awakening of the “Real Taiyi”
Severely injured during a fight with a flood dragon, Taiyi undergoes an identity crisis. He rejects the notion that he is a puppet, accepts his own true heart and will, and declares himself the real Taiyi 132. In this state, he identifies himself as a Nine-Tailed Kunpeng and erupts with a new power, then massacres cultivators and consumes their Soul Beads to grow stronger 132.
Heavenly Emperor and Divine Tomb
Taiyi later controls the Heavenly Emperor's body and enters seclusion to restore his strength. He reaches peak half-step Divine Venerable, kills several hostile Divine Venerables, and seeks to deal with threats to the Heavenly Court 133.
He enters the Divine Tomb, obtains an inheritance, and confronts Divine Venerables and a Divine Emperor. Though he overwhelms his opponents, a mysterious light destroys his divine soul after the inheritance is obtained 134. He later chooses to have the Divine Tomb's teleportation array destroyed rather than allow it to remain a contested strategic asset 135.
Conflict with Di Jun and Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan
Taiyi and Di Jun later attempt to uproot the Fusang Tree, only for it to drain their power and repel them. Their relationship deteriorates into hostility amid disputes involving Fusang and a human target 136.
In another later account, Taiyi is described as a True Immortal who is captured by Di Jun after surrendering his storage pouch of immortal artifacts, but refuses to submit to Di Jun's oppression 137. As the Demon Clan's Heavenly Emperor, Taiyi later fights Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan, suffers defeat, and escapes while swearing vengeance 147.
