Background

Nuwa originally cultivated with her elder brother Fuxi on Phoenix Perch Mountain, where their discussions of the Dao drew numerous listeners. Fuxi dotes on her and shielded her from the rougher influences that shaped Houtu's early disposition. 24 86

Although Nuwa held the position of Wa Sovereign of the Demon Race, she became close friends with Houtu of the Witch Race. Their friendship changed Houtu into a livelier and more mischievous person, despite their factions ostensibly being opposed. 24

Chen Xuan accepted Nuwa as a disciple to prevent Hongjun from steering her onto the Heavenly Dao's path. He personally used the Thirty-Six-Rank Fortune Green Lotus and the Great Dao Law of Creation to elevate her understanding of creation. 49

Personality

Nuwa is compassionate but not indulgent. After creating the Human Race, she shared merit with them and accepted their reverence as their Holy Mother; nevertheless, she refused the Witch Race's offer of routine protection because she believed humanity needed hardship to develop independently. 90 91

She is thoughtful and politically capable. Nuwa recognized that neither the Witch Race nor Demon Race could properly govern the Primordial World, an insight that began her path toward creating humanity.
