Origin and Nature

The Primordial World was completed after Pangu cleaved open heaven and fought the three thousand Chaos Fiendgods. When his strength was exhausted, Pangu transformed into all things within the world; his magical treasures likewise shattered into countless innate spiritual treasures. 2

Before the emergence of the Heavenly Dao, beings taking form did not face heavenly tribulations. The Great Dao remained capable of directly intervening, as shown when it granted Luo Hou's vow to become a Heavenly Demon. 1

The world is filled with spiritual energy, blessed lands, innate formations, spiritual roots, and treasures born from Pangu's transformation. Its earliest era is exceptionally perilous: even the aftershocks of battles between great powers can kill innumerable beings, while cultivators below the Golden Immortal realm have little chance of surviving outside their own Daoist grounds. 1 8

History

Dao–Demon Conflict

Luo Hou and Hongjun's confrontation shook the Primordial World. Luo Hou offered his flesh, blood, and primordial spirit to the Great Dao, becoming a Heavenly Demon and establishing the coexistence of Dao and demons. His final act triggered an explosion beneath the western lands that devastated the region and caused both combatants to vanish. 1

The destruction left the western lands barren, with collapsed mountains, cracked earth, and shattered spiritual veins. Mount Sumeru, once among the greatest sacred mountains, was reduced to a ruin. 3 4

Reemergence of Innate Beings

After an extended silence following the Dao–Demon conflict, a new generation of innate beings took form across the world. Competition for resources around Mount Buzhou soon escalated into conflict, particularly as the Witch Clan sought to monopolize the mountain's opportunities. 8

The Witch Clan's first large-scale clash with Dijun, Taiyi, and other innate beings turned Mount Buzhou into a battlefield. The Ancestral Witches' combined strength overwhelmed their opponents and forced the surviving innate beings to retreat. 9

Rise of the Heavenly Dao

Hongjun attained the Dao and proclaimed that Purple Cloud Palace would open after three yuanhui for a sermon. His Sage pressure spread across the Primordial World, compelling all living beings to acknowledge his ascent. 12

Hongjun later used Primordial Purple Qi to bind Laozi, Tongtian, and Nuwa. Though it offers an opportunity for sainthood, the qi also links its bearer to the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun's control. 20 21

Wuchen's Challenge

Wuchen's breakthrough to the Dao Venerable realm created a direct challenge to Hongjun's authority. Their clash demonstrated that Wuchen's Purifying Divine Light could dissolve rule-based attacks and sever Hongjun's connection to treasures such as the Pangu Banner. 16 17

The battle drew major powers from throughout the Primordial World, including the Twelve Ancestral Witches, the Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, Dijun, and Taiyi. The Ancestral Witches formed the Pangu Dharma form, ultimately forcing Hongjun to retreat. 17

Conflict of the Courts

After the Witch Clan withdrew from Mount Buzhou, Dijun and Taiyi established the Demon Court there and received merit from the Heavenly Dao. The Demon Court subsequently launched a brutal campaign to force the world's beings into submission. 21

Dongwang Gong answered the Demon Court's tyranny by establishing the Immortal Court. Minghe also gathered scattered innate great powers into an alliance, creating a three-sided struggle for dominance. 21 22

Hongjun eventually halted the fighting between the Demon Court, Immortal Court, and Minghe Alliance. He redirected all three factions against the Witch Clan by declaring that merit earned in destroying the Witches could determine opportunities for sainthood. 24 25

• Witch Clan — Descendants of Pangu's essence blood. They possess powerful bodies and innate laws but lack primordial spirits; after being warned of their future calamity, they retreat toward the Blood Sea and prepare for war. 8 10 13
• Demon Court — Founded by Dijun and Taiyi on Mount Buzhou to govern the myriad spirits. Its expansion is marked by forced submission and massacres of those who refuse to join. 21
• Immortal Court — Founded by Dongwang Gong as a rallying point for beings harmed by the Demon Court. Its base is Penglai Immortal Island. 21 22
