Background / History

The Witch Clan originates from Pangu's essence blood and is born from Pangu Hall, an innate supreme treasure formed from Pangu's skull. They possess no primordial spirits, instead cultivating exceptionally powerful physical bodies supported by innate laws. 8 10

Initially based around Mount Buzhou, the clan attempts to monopolize the mountain's resources and kills other beings who enter its territory. Their conduct drives Dijun, Taiyi, and numerous innate beings into open conflict with them. 8

The Witch Clan decisively wins the First Witch-Demon Clash. Led by the Twelve Ancestral Witches, they crush the scattered forces gathered around Dijun and Taiyi, forcing a retreat from Mount Buzhou. 9

Afterward, Wuchen warns Di Jiang and Houtu that the clan will face a calamity leading to near-extinction, caused by a former opponent of Pangu who is close to attaining the Dao. In response, Di Jiang orders all tribes to cease external conflicts and cultivate until Houtu can attain the Dao. 10

When Hongjun attains the Dao, the clan treats it as confirmation of Wuchen's warning. Di Jiang leads the Witch Clan away from Mount Buzhou toward the depths of the Blood Sea, where they can avoid further conflict. 12 13

Hongjun attempts to force them back to Mount Buzhou, but Di Jiang and Houtu refuse. The clan's defiance, together with the implied threat of destroying Pangu Hall and their ancestral merit, compels Hongjun to withdraw rather than escalate into battle. 13 14

During Wuchen's confrontation with Hongjun, the Twelve Ancestral Witches intervene on Wuchen's behalf. They form the Twelve Capitals Divine Fiend Formation and summon Pangu's Dharma form, whose strike forces Hongjun to flee. 17

Wuchen later gives the Twelve Ancestral Witches a sermon at Wuchen Palace, substantially improving their comprehension of laws and cultivation. 18 19

Hongjun subsequently declares that destroying the Witch Clan can grant an opportunity for sainthood and the position of Heavenly Emperor. By Chapter 25, he has forced the Demon Court, Immortal Court, and Minghe Alliance into a combined offensive against the clan. 19 25
