History

Origins

According to legend, when Great God Pangu split open heaven and earth, fragments of the shattered Chaos World fell into the East Sea. Shielded by Heavenly Dao laws, three such fragments gradually became Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingzhou—blessed lands retaining remnants of Chaos. 9

Lich Tribulation

By Xuan Liu's rebirth, the Witch Race controlled the earth while the demon race commanded the Heavenly Court. Their escalating war caused widespread death among innate lifeforms and races, while karmic debt and sinful karma deepened across the world. 1 2

The Six Saints observed this mounting calamity from their Dao fields. The prospect of heaven and earth returning to ruin had already begun to appear within the river of time. 1

Discovery of Penglai

The naturally formed Primordial Five-Element Grand Formation concealed Penglai Immortal Island from heavenly secrets and karmic contact. After Xuan Liu and Duobao Daoist broke its formation eye, Penglai rose from the seabed and became accessible for the first time. 8 9

Within Penglai were the Three Luminaries Divine Water, the Yellowheart Plum, and the Twelve-Petal Pure World White Lotus, along with numerous lesser innate roots and treasures. 9 10 11 12

Saint Conflict and the Ban on Great Battles

The Western Sect attempted to use the Dream Entry Technique to alter Xuan Liu's primordial-spirit memories and convert him into a Western Sect agent. Tongtian Cult Master and Supreme Elder Laozi intervened before the conversion succeeded. 33 34

Tongtian retaliated by attacking Mount Sumeru and deploying the Execution Sword Formation, causing devastation across the Western Continent. 35 36

Ancestor Hongjun ended the conflict and decreed that Saints could no longer engage in great battles within the Primordial World; violators would be personally dealt with by him. 37
