After pondering for a moment, he said cautiously, "Zhang Shouzheng was originally one of those we arranged to contend against the Vast Yang Sect. In principle, sending him forward would be perfectly reasonable. But..."
He shook his head. "Though Zhang Shouzheng is not weak, Lin recalls that the Vast Yang Sect had three people who attained the Void-Reality Mutual Generation Achievement back then. Their present circumstances remain unknown. The Divine Radiance Sect should also possess formidable figures. Zhang Shouzheng has only cultivated the Void-Entrusting Achievement—how could he contend with such people?"
Chen Tingzhi turned to look at him and said, "From my observation of Zhang Shouzheng's cultivation, he is in fact only one step from the threshold. We may give him a helping hand."
Lin Tingzhi could not help asking, "How are we to help him?"
Chen Tingzhi looked around at the assembly and said, "You all know that I hold an imprint of the Great Dao. However, I cultivate the Turbid Canon and have always felt unable to take hold of this imprint.
"Later, I learned that a disciple in the Inner Layer had obtained a fragmentary imprint of it. I believed this was a heavenly affinity, so I accepted him into my sect, hoping he could attain this destined opportunity. Yet he had no way to refine and wield it. Later, he presented the imprint to me. I too felt I had no affinity to take hold of it, so I handed it over to the Court."
He raised his head and gave a respectful salute toward the high seat. "Now I request that the Court entrust this imprint to Zhang Shouzheng, helping him achieve success. Then he may be sent to hold the forward position and bar the invading enemy!"
