The spiritual prophecy the Moqi Gods had established long ago had been made by the Mo God invoking the divinity of all the gods together. It was also the key to completing the final step of stealing the High One's power.

Though they had continuously stolen the High One's power in the past and possessed nearly mature mastery over its use, this ultimately had its flaws. For theft itself made use of certain characteristics of the High One. At certain times, the High One might let you take whatever you wished, but at other times, it would demand that you return it all.

It was difficult to say when that time would come, but the more they borrowed, the closer they inevitably came to that limit. When the time came, they would have to spit everything back out. It was not merely a matter of returning as much as they had gained; they would have to return themselves as well, perhaps even implicating other gods who had benefited.

The Moqi Gods were naturally unwilling to accept this, so they had constantly sought ways to avoid it, and had achieved some results. But the arrival of the Turbid Tide had obstructed them.

Celestial Xia's Profound Court had once judged that this was in fact the result of drawing upon the High One. The Moqi Gods themselves believed so as well. Yet that did not mean all hope was lost. Thus, they had left behind the spiritual prophecy in advance and hidden themselves deep within the Interlayer, waiting for an opportunity to resolve that final step.

So long as the spiritual prophecy's omen came to pass, they would return to the world and complete that step.

What the Mo God sensed at this moment was precisely the fulfillment of the spiritual prophecy.
