Qing Lin was taken in by Xiao Ding after wandering alone in Stone Desert City. As the daughter of a snake-person and a human woman, she bears visible snake scales and has endured ridicule and fear since childhood; she came to believe that her heritage brought calamity to others. 40 41

Xie Tianxiao sought her specifically for her rare Blue-Snake Three-Flower Eyes. Though frightened of leaving the Desert Iron Mercenary Corps, Qing Lin accepted his offer after he reassured her that her scales were neither frightening nor cursed. She asked to serve as his maid, and he ultimately agreed while insisting that her cultivation potential was far greater than that role. 40 41 42

During the search for the Green Lotus Core Flame, Xie Tianxiao taught Qing Lin cultivation and raised her to One-Star Dou Zhe. She accompanied him to the underground magma cavern and successfully tamed the Twin-Headed Flame Spirit Snake. 43 45 46

When Xie Tianxiao's absorption of the Heavenly Flame required a prolonged stay underground, he instructed Qing Lin to leave the cavern on the Flame Spirit Snake and return to the Desert Iron Mercenary Corps until he could retrieve her. 47

While Qing Lin was waiting at the Desert Iron Mercenary Corps, Heaven Serpent Mansion elder Lv Man forcibly attempted to take her away because of her Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils. Qing Lin resisted, summoned Xiao Ling to defend herself, and remained confident that Xie Tianxiao would come for her. He tracked Lv Man, rescued Qing Lin, and spared the elder after learning that she had intended recruitment rather than serious harm. 67 68 69

Lv Man explained that Heaven Serpent Mansion regarded Qing Lin as the reincarnation of its previous Saintess and wished to train her as its Holy Maiden. Xie Tianxiao allowed Qing Lin to choose for herself; she accepted because she wanted to become strong enough to help him. He personally escorted her to the mansion, where its leadership formally recognized her as Holy Maiden and pledged its full resources to her protection and cultivation. 70 71 73

After completing her inheritance and cultivating at Heaven Serpent Mansion for several years, Qing Lin learned that Xie Tianxiao was in the Central Plains and traveled to the Sacred Palace with Yao Tianhuo. Having reached Six-Star Dou Zong, she asked to remain permanently at Xie Tianxiao's side; he accepted, determining that the Sacred Palace's resources were more suitable for her future growth. 237

Qing Lin is gentle, obedient, and deeply insecure due to the prejudice she faced over her heritage. Initially, she fears being beaten, scolded, abandoned, or treated as a source of misfortune. 41

She is also sincerely loyal and compassionate. Rather than seeking strength to make others fear her, she wishes to become strong enough to protect and assist Xie Tianxiao. After witnessing him eliminate the Sand Mercenary Corps, she trusts that he acted against people she considered dangerous. 42 44

Her confidence grows after taming the Twin-Headed Flame Spirit Snake; she is delighted that she can finally be useful rather than “a useless person.” 46

Qing Lin shows courage when threatened, refusing Lv Man's demand that she leave and commanding Xiao Ling to protect her despite the vast difference in strength. Her faith in Xie Tianxiao remains absolute even while she is being taken from the Jia Ma Empire. 67 68 69

After returning to the Desert Iron Mercenary Corps and advancing to Three-Star Dou Zhe, Qing Lin is targeted by Lv Man of Heaven Serpent Mansion. She refuses to leave willingly, summons Xiao Ling in self-defense, and is ultimately rescued by Xie Tianxiao after Lv Man takes her from the Jia Ma Empire. 67 68 69

Heaven Serpent Mansion

Xie Tianxiao permits Qing Lin to decide whether to enter Heaven Serpent Mansion.
