Background / History

Freya is the Goddess of Beauty and the patron deity of the Freya Familia, one of Orario’s two dominant Familias. Her Familia’s strength rests partly on the devotion she inspires: its members are captivated by her beauty, compete fiercely for her favor, and unite absolutely when her dignity is threatened. Freya holds complete trust in Ottar, her captain and personal guard. 2 5 32

Unlike those enthralled by her charm, Freya seeks genuine love—affection directed at her as an individual rather than compelled by her divine nature. She calls this sought-after partner her Odr. In her view, anyone already captivated by her charm is disqualified from becoming that person. 8

Freya encountered Cao Ye shortly after his arrival in Orario. Her soul-sight identified the “evil” he carried as something borne rather than self-created: All the World’s Evil. Intrigued by this anomaly and seeing the potential of a future hero, she had Ottar bring the unconscious Cao Ye to her Familia. 2

She gave Cao Ye her Falna, through which he awakened Miracle of Absolute Evil. Rather than subjecting him to the Freya Familia’s usual harsh internal environment, Freya kept him in Babel Tower and made him her personal masseur, granting him unusually privileged treatment. 3 4

Freya is portrayed as a peerlessly beautiful goddess with a tall, balanced figure, fair skin, and long, slender legs. Her presence alone draws attention from mortals and gods alike. 3 31
