The Imperial Fists' Talent for Construction
Imperial Fists is the best at building defense projects among all the Space Marines legions.
This is not prejudice, this is common sense, and the truth engraved on the title page of the Imperial Military Academy textbook.
From the city walls they built with flesh and blood during the Siege of Terra period, to every fortress, every fortress, and every outpost that doesn't even have a name all over Milky Way today.
As long as you see a wall that is ridiculously thick, a tower that is ridiculously high, and a line of defense that is so strong that it makes you want to curse.
The people standing behind them must be the group of people wearing yellow Power Armour.
And once Imperial Fists's Space Marines gets the Smart Atoms transformation, things start to get outrageous.
Their construction talent and rigorous physical logic, which originated from Gene-Father Roge·Dorn, were pushed to the extreme by Smart Atoms.
The ultimate means - breaking through the limits of physics and starting to spread to the Psionic Energy level.
That's right, it's the Psionic Energy level.
A Imperial Fists veteran squatted on the edge of Warp, holding a still-glowing Psionic Energy brick in his hand, squinting his eyes and making gestures, and then built it into nothingness.
The brick did not fall or dissipate. It was suspended steadily in Warp's Chaos, as if being held by an invisible hand.
The veteran patted the dust off his hands and nodded with satisfaction.
"This wall can last ten thousand years," he said.
This is the Psionic Energy version of Imperial Fists.
They no longer use cement and steel bars, but Psionic Energy and concepts.
They are not building fortifications, they are weaving rules.
The meaning of a wall is no longer "to block the enemy's cannonballs", but "this place is insurmountable".
The meaning of a tower is no longer "see further", but "this place cannot be ignored".
So, what exactly can be built by building objects in Warp?
For example, the realm of the gods.
For example, those twisted Warp territories that do not belong to any Chaos Gods.
As long as your Psionic Energy is powerful enough and your logic is rigorous enough, you can build a castle in Warp.
A castle that will not collapse, will not be eroded by Chaos, and will always stand in the void.
The number of Imperial Fists is continuing to grow steadily.
At this speed, they can build a quite luxurious divine domain for their Gene-Father Roge·Dorn within the next hundred years.
Of course, I guess Dorn won't like it very much.
Most Primarch don't like to accept their own Warp Essence.
This is normal. Who wants to admit that they are actually a group of Psionic Energy concepts that can think?
Sanguinius was not happy, Lion was not happy, and even Guilliman reluctantly accepted the title "Son of War".
But Dorn was particularly unhappy.
He is a stone, and a stone does not need a divine realm.
Stone only requires one wall.
However, this ability can also be used to do other things.
For example, patch Webway.
Guilliman stood on the bridge of Macragge's Honour, holding in his hand the Psionic Energy crystal that Asuryan gave him.
The crystal slowly rotated in his palm, and the light spots inside formed the entire holographic distribution map of Webway.
He looked at the densely packed nodes and passages, and at the red areas marked as "damaged", "blocked" and "high risk", and frowned.
Webway is the legacy of Old Ones and the interstellar highway that Imperium of Man dreams of.
Its safety is far greater than that of Warp, and its speed is dozens of times that of the existing channel of Imperium.
But the problem is that it has been used by Eldar for 65 million years and is riddled with holes.
When Eldar used Webway in the early days, it was quite orderly.
Just walk the route, transport goods, and occasionally take a few tourists to visit.
But in the later stage, Eldar started to drift away.
Those Ancient Eldar nobles wantonly opened up pocket spaces in Webway, which were as big as an entire planet and as small as a continental plate.
They build palaces, Garden of Nurgle, playgrounds, and even entire cities in those pocket spaces.
They live a life of superiority to others in Webway, treating public roads as their own backyard.
The original Eldar was definitely not so extravagant, and it definitely didn't have that much manpower and material resources.
But countless years of indulgence have given birth to many such nobles. They have plenty of time, resources, and idle imagination.
The result is that Webway was damaged.
That is to say, the quality of the project delivered by Old Ones is of excellent quality, and it has been going through 65 million years without any major problems.
If the engineering team of Imperium of Man were replaced, it would have collapsed in 6500 years, not to mention 65 million years.
But Guilliman obviously cannot arrange his way to conquer Warp on an old project that has been used for 60 million years.
"So," he put down the crystal, turned around, and looked at the holographic projection on the bridge, "I decided to renovate."
The word renovation sounds simple, but it is difficult to do.
Webway is not a tunnel, but a network.
It covers the entire Milky Way and connects countless nodes and branches.
To renovate it, you need a large, professional, and death-defying construction team.
And Imperium of Man has exactly that.
Guilliman directly decided to arrange two legions.
"Imperial Fists. Iron Warriors."
When he said these two names, Roge·Dorn standing behind him showed no expression.
Perturabo also has no expression.
But the air between the two people suddenly became sharp.
Imperial Fists, good at defense.
Iron Warriors, good at siege.
One builds and the other demolishes.
One is a stone and the other is a hammer.
But they have a common talent that is engraved deep in their genes - dusting.
It's not the kind of "I'll help you move two bricks" kind of dusting, but the kind of "you give me a blueprint and I'll give you a fortress" kind of dusting.
They can read gravity, calculate stress, and determine in a second how thick of concrete a wall needs to withstand the bombardment of Titans.
This is their instinct, their genes, and the most precious legacy left to them by Primarch.
And now, they have Smart Atoms.
Their talents have been pushed to the Psionic Energy level.
They are no longer just dust masters at the physical level, but infrastructure madmen at the Warp level.
"Webway refurbished," Guilliman's voice echoed on the bridge, "Imperial Fists is responsible for repair and reinforcement, and Iron Warriors is responsible for dismantling and cleaning. Any questions?"
Dorn shook his head.
Perturabo did not speak, but the corners of his mouth slightly raised an imperceptible arc.
"In addition," Guilliman added, "I plan to try to use some of Necrons's technologies during the renovation process."
"What?" Perturabo frowned, "Necrons? Do they understand Webway?"
Guilliman Before he could answer, the holographic projection on the bridge suddenly flashed.
A faint green light projected from the void and condensed into a familiar figure - Silent King.
"Don't underestimate Necrons's scientific research capabilities." Silent King's voice was as calm as dead water. "Since we thought about attacking Old Ones back then, we naturally knew something about their stuff and did special research."
His figure turned around in the holographic projection, and his dark green eyes stared straight at Guilliman.
