Heart Beating Like Thunder
The runes sensed her Psionic Energy signature, and the heavy alloy door slid open silently.
An invisible pressure swept over me.
It wasn't the pressure of Psionic Energy; it was more like the air itself had become viscous and restless, as if countless tiny drumbeats were being struck simultaneously.
She frowned slightly and continued walking.
This feeling became even more pronounced after the second and third doors.
The air oscillates at high frequencies in dimensions invisible to the naked eye.
Each oscillation brought with it a low, almost infrasound-like hum.
It subtly interfered with her own Psionic Energy, causing a tingling sensation in the Wraithbone beneath her skin.
In addition to the overwhelming Psionic Energy, there was another... more primal, more material force pulsating within.
Like a heartbeat, but magnified a million times, it was as if a star was imprisoned in the core of the temple, beating rhythmically.
When Yvraine pushed open the last and heaviest main gate, the accumulated tremors finally reached a critical point.
"Buzz--!!!"
An invisible shockwave surged out like a tsunami, catching Yvraine off guard. Her elegant figure was pushed backward several steps before she regained her balance.
She felt as if a giant drum was striking her chest, causing her internal organs to resonate and her blood to surge.
Her long, silvery-white hair was lifted by an invisible force field, cascading down like a waterfall.
The core of the temple came into view.
The vast space was devoid of any decoration, featuring only a smooth, mirror-like black floor and a dome.
In the very center, Robert Guilliman sits cross-legged, suspended three meters above the ground.
He wasn't wearing armor, only a dark blue training uniform, but beneath that simple attire, his body was radiating a terrifying power.
He was the source of the upheaval.
With each long, deep breath he took, and each heavy, drum-like heartbeat he made.
Visible ripples of air spread outwards from him, impacting the specially designed walls and producing a deep resonance.
That wasn't Psionic Energy light and shadow effect; it was a physical phenomenon caused by the interference of pure material forces with reality.
His body itself had become an instrument capable of shaking space.
Sensing the arrival of the visitor, Guilliman slowly exhaled a long breath.
The moment the breath left his lips, it condensed into a pale white arrow of energy, shooting several meters before dissipating.
He opened his eyes.
Yvraine met those eyes.
Azure, like the clearest sky in Macragge, but at this moment, deep within that blue, golden light flows and ripples like lava.
The terrifying Psionic Energy was no longer contained; it transformed into lively, leaping blue-gold arcs of electricity, crackling and swirling around him.
This made him appear like a god in mythology who controlled thunder.
The Primarch descended slowly, and when his feet touched the ground, even the incredibly solid Vibration Floor sank slightly, emitting a muffled thud.
"You look rather disheveled, ma'am."
Guilliman spoke, his voice carrying a familiar, teasing tone between friends.
Long-term joint efforts and in-depth exchanges.
The relationship between the Primarch and this Eldar beauty had long since transcended that of simple allies; it was more like that of old friends who could joke with each other and appreciate one another.
Yvraine steadied the churning blood within her and gave the other person a disgruntled look—she was becoming increasingly adept at using this human-like expression.
"Isn't that all thanks to you, sir?"
As she spoke, she raised her hand to tidy her disheveled, snow-white hair.
Her nimble fingers gathered her long hair, and she took a thin, resilient rubber band made of some kind of animal leather from her waist, neatly tying it into a high ponytail.
In an instant, the slightly disheveled leader of the Reaper Host disappeared, transforming back into the capable, elegant, and somewhat mysterious Eldar beauty.
But the doubt in her violet eyes remained.
She pointed at Guilliman, her tone turning serious. "What was that terrifying shockwave just now? I could sense it; it wasn't Psionic Energy disturbance."
She has an extremely keen sense of energy, and can clearly distinguish between the ethereal nature of Psionic Energy and the tangible reality of material forces.
That's definitely not Psionic Energy.
Guilliman readily admitted it, a helpless yet amusing smile appearing on his face:
"Furthermore, with my current Psionic Energy control, I wouldn't allow energy to leak out like this all the time."
He paused, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Come here, and experience for yourself what that power truly is."
Before Yvraine could respond, Guilliman's figure once again floated up from the spot.
He faced Yvraine, a smile playing on his lips, and then—
"Thump! Thump! Thump!"
It was no longer a spreading shockwave, but an incredibly clear, incredibly heavy heartbeat, as if it were striking directly in the depths of one's soul!
Each pulse caused the air in the entire temple to tremble violently.
Yvraine even experienced a hallucination.
She could "hear" the surging blood within the body before her, as powerful as a mighty Milky Way.
It is rushing and circulating in the veins, as thick as a dragon's vein, at a terrifying speed and pressure.
The intense, masculine energy rushed towards her, a stark contrast to the naturally feminine and agile life energy of the Eldar Race, causing her to hold her breath slightly.
She was certain.
The power that made the air vibrate and her blood surge was neither a novel Psionic Energy technique nor a Warp blessing.
It was simply that the physical strength of this "god among men" was too great.
So much so that the mere resonance of heartbeats and blood flow interferes with external reality!
What the hell is this?
Yvraine's Eldar mind raced, trying to comprehend this illogical phenomenon.
'To create regular vibrations in the air on a macroscopic scale using only physical strength? Isn't this a physical characteristic that only ancient, Old Ones beasts from lost myths, capable of creating the world, could possess?'
Of course, given her elegance and upbringing, she wouldn't have blurted out these innermost thoughts directly.
"So, what exactly is going on with you?"
Suppressing her shock, Yvraine asked the core question:
"Why has your physical strength become so 'active'? You could even say it's stronger?"
"Actually, I haven't gotten much stronger."
Guilliman shrugged innocently.
His relaxed demeanor contrasted comically with the still-present arcs of lightning and the faint tremors in the space around him.
"It's only an improvement of about one-five-hundredth of my original level."
"One in five hundred?!"
Yvraine's voice rose slightly, "This little increase can cause this kind of phenomenon?"
