Background / History
Qiangu Aoshi was not born by ordinary means. Qianjun Douluo and Demon-Subduing Douluo took him in, named him, raised him within the Worship Hall, and regarded him as their heir. At age six, he awakened twin Coiling Dragon Staff martial souls. Bibi Dong later speculated that his abnormal origin and divine-like ability could mean he had been bestowed by a god. 1 8 12
As a transmigrator, Aoshi possesses a “gift from Earth Mother” that causes defeated enemies to drop soul power, soul rings, soul bones, and martial souls. Before the main events, he used his fathers’ authority to execute captured fallen soul masters in secret and refine their dropped soul power, reaching level 50 at age twelve. 1
His early campaign through the Star Dou Great Forest established his reputation. He acquired a 30,000-year fifth ring, rescued Zhu Zhuqing, and devastated members of Shrek Academy who opposed him. He subsequently returned to Spirit Hall with Zhao Wuji as a prisoner and gained the Worship Hall’s backing for the Holy Son position. 2 4 8 9
After Bibi Dong initially rejected his appointment for lacking merit, Aoshi led a force of Worship Hall powerhouses against Tang Hao. Tang Hao’s capture strengthened Aoshi’s public standing, while Aoshi later stripped Tang Hao of his remaining cultivation, Clear Sky Hammer, techniques, rings, and soul bones. 11 15 20
Appearance
At twelve, Aoshi is described as growing taller with broad shoulders and a straight back after absorbing his fifth soul ring. His most distinctive visual feature is his crimson Coiling Dragon Staff, whose dragon patterns can appear to awaken during combat. 2
- Wields a crimson staff marked by coiling dragon patterns. 2
- His martial soul can manifest as a crimson dragon during powerful attacks. 5 26
- Emits an increasingly oppressive, dragon-like aura as he stacks soul power. 2 9
Personality
Aoshi is intensely ambitious and views strength as the foundation of authority. He pursues high-grade rings, soul bones, cultivation arts, and political support with little hesitation, often treating hostile opponents as resources to be refined or redistributed. His long-term plan includes creating the Eternal Gang from Spirit Hall orphans granted martial souls. 10 17 35
He is ruthless toward those who challenge him, permanently stripping or crippling opponents such as Dai Mubai, Tang San, Zhao Wuji, and the Golden Iron Triangle. However, he distinguishes this from indiscriminate killing, arguing that he retaliates against those who provoke him rather than harming innocents. 4 5 20 23 42
Aoshi is also pragmatic in cultivating loyalty. He rewards bishops for service, gives immortal herbs to Spirit Hall officials, secures Dugu Bo’s allegiance by treating his poison, and brings gifts back to the Worship Hall elders. 2 30 35 38
His possessive treatment of Zhu Zhuqing and his propositions toward Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu initially provoke fear, anger, and hostility from those around him. 1 4
Abilities & Skills
Twin Coiling Dragon Staves
Aoshi possesses two Coiling Dragon Staff martial souls. The staff contains the Heaven-Awakening Sacred Golden Dragon and is especially effective at overcoming stronger opponents; the greater the strength gap, the more power the martial soul can display. 1 6
- Can generate dragon-shaped force blasts and manifest as a crimson dragon in battle. 5 9
- Its soul-ring configuration repeatedly exceeds conventional limits, including an early thousand-year second ring, ten-thousand-year fourth ring, and later multiple 100,000-year rings. 4 22 43
- Its power is naturally opposed to concentrated evil energy. 18
Drop Ability
Aoshi’s defining ability causes defeated foes to drop portions of their soul power, martial souls, soul rings, and soul bones. The drops can occur even before the victim dies. 1 2 12
- Refines dropped soul-power clusters through meditation to accelerate his own cultivation. 1 7
- Can obtain enemy martial souls and soul rings after defeating them, then preserve, destroy, use, or redistribute them. 4 6 20 23
- The quality of drops depends on his role in the victory; when his bishops subdued Zhao Wuji before Aoshi personally defeated him, only soul-power clusters dropped. 6
- Used Dai Mubai’s White Tiger martial soul to grant Zhu Zhuqing an artificial second martial soul. 4
- Gives martial souls from executed criminals to Spirit City orphans with weak martial souls, intending to build a future support network. 10
Coiling Dragon Soul Skills
Aoshi’s documented Coiling Dragon Staff skills emphasize control, amplification, armor-piercing force, and overwhelming burst damage.
- First and Second Soul Skills — Coiling Dragon Oscillation: Combines Coiling Dragon Shock, which forcibly repels enemies, and Coiling Dragon Sway, which stuns them. 2 9
- Third Soul Skill — Coiling Dragon Might: Doubles strength and attack power, grants armor-piercing force, and can ignore defenses. 6 9
- Fourth Soul Skill — Coiling Dragon Suppression: Creates a viscous, swamp-like force field that restricts movement and traps attacks. 2 5
- Fifth Soul Skill — Layering Art / Coiling Dragon Stacking: Stores and compresses soul power over time, enabling bursts estimated at tenfold or even hundredfold normal force. 2 6
- Sixth Soul Skill — Coiling Dragon’s Break: A wind-and-thunder offensive technique stated to push the staff’s destructive power to its limit. 18 23
- Seventh Soul Skill — Coiling Dragon True Form: His martial soul true body, used alongside Might, Stacking, and Break to maximize a single attack. 26
Tang Sect Secret Arts
After defeating Tang San, Aoshi acquired several Tang Sect techniques and immediately began incorporating them into his combat style. 7

Golden Body and Medical Knowledge
After consuming the Star Anise Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot before entering the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Aoshi tempered his physique into what he calls an indestructible golden body. 31 32
- His strengthened body allows him to absorb soul rings and bones far beyond ordinary limits. 2 20 37
- His blood retains ice-and-fire medicinal properties and can be used to purge Dugu Bo’s toxins without destroying Dugu Bo’s poison arts. 31 32
- Uses the Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone’s ability to fly and to heal Tang Hao enough to continue extracting drops from him. 19 30
