Hilling Star
Hua Wei was practically yanked out of the game interface by the system's near-frantic alerts.
"So damn noisy! Can't I even enjoy my game in peace..." he muttered irritably, glancing at the system interface.
The next second, he sprang out of his chair as if struck by high-voltage electricity, nearly overturning his gamer chair with the sheer force of the movement!
[Available Emotion Points: 1,136,220]
"O... one million one hundred thirty thousand?!" Hua Wei's voice cracked outright, his eyes nearly popping from their sockets.
He viciously rubbed his face, pinching and slapping himself to make sure some Chaos god had not dragged him into a beautiful dream trap.
With trembling hands, he opened the detailed list. After one glance, he sucked in a sharp breath. "What Tyranid main force? What three-hundred-thousand-year blood war?! I'm so amazing, how come my mom didn't know? You people actually believed that?! And believed it so thoroughly?! You imagined more than seven hundred thousand Emotion Points out of thin air?!!"
This overwhelming fortune had come completely out of nowhere!
"One million one hundred thirty thousand..." Hua Wei licked his lips, fanatical light gleaming in his eyes. "I thought I'd still need several days to gather this much... If I don't pull off something huge with this, I'd be letting everyone down!"
He slapped his thigh. "System! Open the five-star summoning interface! Daddy's spending today!"
An icy blue screen instantly unfolded, and a gorgeous, profound vortex appeared before Hua Wei.
At the vortex's center were three card backs shrouded in chaotic mist, radiating heart-palpitating pressure and... an expensive aura.
[Five-Star Unit Summon: Requires 1,000,000 Emotion Points. Confirm?]
"Confirm! Hurry! Come out, big shots!" Hua Wei tapped confirm without the slightest hesitation.
Watching his Emotion Points instantly plummet to [136,220], his heart trembled—but even stronger was the thrill of going all in.
The vortex on the screen suddenly spun faster. Countless bizarre phantoms flashed past within it, as though it were stirring the pool of heroic spirits from countless worlds. Hua Wei's heart rose into his throat.
"God bless me! Ancestors bless me! Three Pure Ones bless me! Brother Ma... Huh? No, this is a guaranteed five-star! Whatever, who cares!" Hua Wei clasped his hands together and bowed wildly at the empty air. He even nervously rushed into the tiny bathroom in the safe house, scrubbing his hands fiercely with cold water as he muttered, "Wash away the bad luck! Wash away the bad luck!"
He took a deep breath. Like a gambler about to reveal fate's final card, he tremblingly directed his thoughts toward the center of the vortex.
Buzz—
The vortex abruptly froze, and light exploded! Three cards glowing with different radiance burst through the mist and hovered before Hua Wei, each emanating suffocating power.
Beneath the cards, brief yet distinctive descriptions appeared:
[Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi]
Appearance: A Jedi clad in simple Jedi robes, his face weathered yet wise, his gentle eyes concealing immense power. A plain lightsaber hilt hung at his waist.
Description: "A Jedi Master, a great mentor."
[Heavy Cruiser Shipgirl Prinz Eugen]
Appearance: An incomparably beautiful young woman with an outrageously curvaceous figure, silver hair, red eyes, and magnificent yet somewhat revealing clothing. Her smile carried both cunning and deadly allure.
Description: "The sea of stars is still a sea. A shipgirl is a ship first. One punch, and your home is gone."
[Spartan Warrior Master Chief (John-117)]
Appearance: A silent warrior clad in dark-green Mjolnir-powered armor, its hard lines brimming with strength. A cool glint shone from his helmet visor, while the UNSC eagle insignia was emblazoned upon his shoulder armor. He held the iconic MA5B assault rifle.
Description: "Don't ask why he's five-star. Because love, that's why."
Hua Wei's gaze was instantly locked onto the second card!
"Hiss—!" He inhaled sharply, his eyes widening as he stared fixedly at Prinz Eugen's bursting chest and her long, straight legs wrapped in black stockings.
A rush of heat surged straight to his head, and his fingers trembled uncontrollably as he instinctively wanted to tap it.
"Pick her! Pick her! Pick her!" A voice in his head—possibly his lower half—screamed madly. "That body! That face! I could just fuck her right here! Those naval guns! Not impressive enough? Exactly! She's perfect..."
Yet, one second before his fingertip touched that tempting card, a pinkish-purple figure suddenly flashed through Hua Wei's mind...
Smack! Smack! Hua Wei suddenly raised his hands and fiercely slapped himself twice, once on each cheek. The blows were so forceful that the crisp sounds echoed through the room, leaving his face burning with pain.
"System, come out here. Did Slaanesh just visit?"
System: "...No Warp influence has been detected. Additionally, a reminder for the host: ordinary individual souls are too low in value to attract Chaos's attention."
"Get ahold of yourself, Hua Wei! You can't start out thinking about fucking! Shipgirls need a team to maximize their returns!" he reminded the reflection in the mirror, though it was a shame to pass up such a shipgirl wife.
Panting heavily, he forced himself to look away and reluctantly turned to the third card—Master Chief. That familiar dark-green armor, that iconic helmet, that mountain-like silent posture... A sense of familiarity born from childhood and countless gaming hours flooded his heart.
"Master Chief..." he murmured, raising a finger slightly. "Old buddy... You're definitely reliable, and the five-star rating is pure nostalgia... but your personality..."
In the end, Hua Wei's gaze settled on the first card.
Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"Jedi Master, the Force..." Hua Wei mulled over the description, his eyes growing brighter and brighter.
Wise, calm, and possessing the powerful Force—something he could absolutely package as a unique and formidable psychic ability! A lightsaber was an iconic weapon with enormous flair, and the identity of a "mentor"... made him extremely likable in terms of personality!
He imagined this figure appearing before Guilliman and the Imperium's upper echelon: a Hilling Empire "master" or "advisor" with an immortal aura—though he wore robes—immense power through the Force, telekinesis, precognition, even crushing a small spacecraft one-handed, and profound wisdom! Compared to a fiery shipgirl or another silent Spartan, this would better explain his special status and make it easier for him to blend into the Imperium of Man's atmosphere of religion and mysticism!
More importantly, the Force's ability to manipulate minds and foresee the future—even if Obi-Wan might not necessarily excel at such things, he could bluff!—was practically a divine skill in Warhammer!
"It's you!" The last trace of hesitation vanished from Hua Wei's eyes.
He extended a finger and, with absolute determination and a hint of apology toward the other two, firmly tapped the first card—the image of Obi-Wan Kenobi!
"Sorry, wifey and Master Chief. Next time, definitely!" Hua Wei muttered toward where the vanished cards had been.
[Summon confirmed! Five-Star Unit: Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi has answered the summon! Physical body being generated, memories automatically supplemented... He will be deployed with supplies to the designated coordinates.]
The summoning interface slowly closed.
Hua Wei let out a long breath and collapsed onto the bed, feeling utterly drained, though his mind was exceptionally exhilarated. Looking at the pitiful remaining one hundred thirty thousand Emotion Points, he grinned.
"Jedi... The Force... super teacher..." he muttered, expectation gleaming in his eyes. "Guilliman, Living Saint, great sages... and those old fossils on Terra, are you ready to welcome a... Jedi Master from the 'Hilling Empire'?"
