Hua Wei's consciousness surfaced from Chaos. A faint wind rustled by his ears, while the scent of grass and earth lingered in his nose.

He abruptly opened his eyes, instinctively raising a hand to shield himself from the blinding sunlight.

"Not dead?" he muttered hoarsely.

He slowly sat up and checked himself—only a few scrapes. His clothes were soaked with mud and blood, but no bones were broken, and his organs had not been infected by plague.

"Pretty lucky..."

Looking around, he found himself lying in an open meadow. Low hills stood in the distance beneath a blue sky and drifting white clouds. The breeze swept through the grass, making the blades whisper.

—Completely different from that hellish battlefield before.

"Teleported?" He frowned, trying to recall the final moment before he lost consciousness.

"Host detected to be facing certain death. All initial Emotion Points forcibly consumed to construct a teleportation channel."

"System?" he called tentatively.

"Host vital signs stable. System functioning normally."

A translucent light screen unfolded before him, displaying a simple interface:

[Host: Hua Wei]

[Current Emotion Points: 0]

[Summoned Units: None]

[System Function: Emotion Point Collection → Summon Multiverse Units]

Hua Wei stared at the screen for several seconds, then suddenly grinned. "Ha! The standard transmigrator package!"

He poked the light screen and found that it was interactive. "System, how exactly does this work?"

"Emotion Points are generated when the host or summoned units participate in events, including but not limited to combat, negotiation, intimidation, rescue operations, and so on."

"So I need to stir things up?"

"That is an acceptable interpretation."

Hua Wei rubbed his chin, then narrowed his eyes. "Wait. You're not made by Tzeentch or some other Chaos God, are you?"

"If the host wishes to become a Chaos God, the system may adjust its functions and provide modules such as corruption and sacrifice."

Hua Wei: "..."

"Forget it, forget it. Pretend I never asked." He hurriedly waved his hands. "I don't want to turn into a lump of rotten flesh or some monster covered in tentacles."

He looked back at the system interface, his gaze settling on the word "None" under "Summoned Units."

"System, where's the newbie gift pack?" He rubbed his hands together. "Don't transmigrators usually get some starting benefits?"

"Host request detected. Newbie gift pack issued."

[Newbie Gift Pack Opened]

[Obtained: Spartan Squad (Halo Universe) ×6]

[Status: Fully Equipped (MJOLNIR Armor, Covenant Infantry Gear)]

[Memory Implantation: None]

Hua Wei's eyes widened. Spartans were great, but this was the Warhammer Universe. "System, do you have some kind of power ranking? Also, what does this memory implantation mean?"

"Power ranking generated. Star system: mortals, 1–3 stars; Astartes, 3–5 stars; Adeptus Custodes, 5 stars; Primarchs, 6 stars. This represents only average values. Exceptional circumstances may vary greatly. God-chosen beings are not included in the statistics."

"The Spartan Squad is rated at 3 stars. Memory implantation can be customized by the host to implant specific memories and independently complete their identities. In addition, summoned personnel may be deployed to any required location without additional cost."

"Only three stars? So they're just slightly more advanced big-headed troops? How am I supposed to stir things up with that? Isn't that just sending them to die?" Hua Wei's face fell.

"Battlefield conditions change constantly. Star ratings are only a simple summary. More factors must be considered in battle, such as weapons and equipment."

"Fine! But at least tell me what period this is, and where I am."

"Scanning. Please wait..." The system seemed to freeze, giving no response for a long while.

"The host is located on a planet outside the Milky Way. It has no name. The host may name it."

"The current time is the early M42 era. Macragge is under Chaos invasion." The system's mechanical voice carried not a trace of emotion.

"Macragge is being invaded? Then Guilliman hasn't awakened yet?" Hua Wei was uncertain. He was only a casual Warhammer fan and did not know these detailed time periods.

"Yes, host!"

"Then won't the warriors I deploy be directly corrupted by Chaos? Will I get targeted too?"

"After special processing by the system, all summons possess a degree of resistance. The higher their star rating, the higher their resistance. Furthermore, the host is protected by the system and will not be affected by the Warp."

Before he could celebrate, the air ahead suddenly warped, and six tall figures appeared out of nowhere.

Spartans.

They wore distinctive MJOLNIR Armor. Their olive-green plating gleamed with cold metallic luster under the sun, while their helmet visors flickered with dim blue light.

Hua Wei opened his mouth, momentarily unsure what to say.

"System, fabricate a faction and implant the memories. Hilling Empire Reach Defense Force, Seventh Special Operations Squad."

"Editing complete. Memory module being finalized. Activate?"

"Wait. Deploy them to Macragge. This period is good too—at least the reaction to aliens won't be so extreme." Hua Wei pressed confirm, and the Spartans before him instantly vanished.

"That's not right. I'm not even an alien. No matter how you put it, I'm far purer than the people of this world." Hua Wei found a flat rock and sat down, surveying the planet. "System, how am I supposed to survive here? Is the air and water safe?"

"The host could originally have exchanged initial Emotion Points for items and easily met survival requirements. However, teleportation depleted the initial Emotion Points. The host may explore independently and exchange once Emotion Points have been acquired." The system remained utterly emotionless.

"What a scam..." Hua Wei got up and walked to a stream, reaching down to wash the blood and grime from himself. Since nothing had happened to him so far, the air was probably fine. As for the water, he did not want to risk it for now. The Spartans had already been sent over, so they should be able to earn some Emotion Points somehow.

"System, give me a live broadcast. Don't tell me you don't have that function!"

"Live broadcast activating. The host may directly issue commands to control the actions of summoned units." The system interface opened, and a screen appeared before Hua Wei.

Macragge, Outer Defensive Line of the Sanctum

The sky had been stained dark red by war. Warp storms churned within the clouds like a grotesque maw, ready to swallow the entire world at any moment.

The Ultramarines' defensive line had already contracted to its limit. The fortifications outside the Sanctum were on the verge of collapse beneath the relentless bombardment of the Chaos legions. The Plague Marines' corruptive artillery exploded against the walls, spreading yellow-green toxic fog that devoured every living thing. Black Legion fanatics swung chainswords as they crazily assaulted the last defensive positions.

"Hold the line! For the Emperor! For Guilliman!" An Ultramarines captain roared, his Bolter spewing fire as it blasted the head off a charging Chaos Space Marine.

But there were simply too many enemies.

Inside the Sanctum, the Armor of Fate still floated silently within its stasis field. Its blue light flickered weakly, as though it might go out at any moment.

—The Primarch's awakening was one final step away.

Then, the sky split open.

A blinding beam of white light suddenly tore through the Chaos clouds, like a god's sword cleaving darkness apart. Both sides instinctively looked up—

—Six figures fell from the rift, descending at such speed that they resembled falling meteors.

"Drop pods? No... what are those?" An Ultramarine frowned.

"Chaos reinforcements?"

Black Legion warriors raised their Bolters with cruel grins.

However, when the six figures were still dozens of meters above the ground, flames suddenly blasted from the backs of their armor. Their braking systems activated with perfect precision, allowing them to crash down in nearly flawless landing stances!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground trembled, and dust billowed into the air.

—The Spartans had arrived on the battlefield.

"Noble Squad, initiate battlefield scan." Carter's voice sounded calm over the comm channel.

Their MJOLNIR Armor HUDs rapidly analyzed the battlefield situation.

"Memory records indicate that we were pulled into an anomaly, then teleported here." Emile's voice was low. "Current coordinates unknown."

"Who cares where we are?" Jorge flexed his wrist. "Those twisted bastards don't look like allies."

Carter did not hesitate.

"Prioritize assisting the blue-armored units. Eliminate corrupted targets."

—The Spartans joined the battle!

The Chaos legionnaires quickly realized that these suddenly appearing "reinforcements" were not on their side.

"Fire! Crush them!" A Black Legion warrior roared, raising his Bolter.

However, just as his scope locked onto one of the Spartans

Bang!

—His helmet was pierced clean through by an electromagnetically accelerated round!

"Sniper! There's a sniper!" Chaos warriors roared as they scrambled for cover.

At the other end of the battlefield, Jane steadily braced her SRS99 Sniper Rifle, the corner of her lips lifting slightly beneath her helmet.

"Target eliminated."

At the same time, Carter and Emile had already charged into the enemy ranks.

Though the Spartans' physical abilities were inferior to those of Space Marines, their speed, reactions, and tactical coordination compensated for the gap.

Carter slid beneath a Plague Marine's chainsaw axe, then drove a knife into the gap at its joint. Before corrosive pus could eat into his armor's servos, he swiftly withdrew the blade and retreated.

"Their armor has weak points!" Carter rapidly analyzed over the comms. "Joints, visors, power pack connections!"

Emile's Gravity Hammer came crashing down, smashing a Chaos warrior's breastplate inward. The sound of shattering bones was clearly audible.

"Copy that!" Jorge and the other two Spartans swiftly adjusted their tactics. Rather than meeting force with force, they used their mobility to deliver precise strikes.

The Ultramarines quickly realized that these mysterious warriors were on their side!

"Coordinate with them!" the Ultramarines captain shouted. "Don't let those Chaos scum break through the line!"

The two sides rapidly formed a coordinated defense, and the situation temporarily reached a stalemate.

Inside the Sanctum, the final procedure to activate the Armor of Fate had been completed.

The blue light abruptly surged, filling the entire Sanctum with blinding radiance.

—The Primarch was about to awaken.
