The Primordial World was opened from chaos by Pangu. Using the Taiji Diagram, Pangu Banner, and Chaos Bell, Pangu divided Heaven and Earth; when the Primordial Green Lotus shattered and the newborn world became unstable, he supported the heavens with his true body before transforming himself into all things. 86

• Pangu's breath became Wind Cloud; his voice became thunder; his eyes became the sun and moon; his blood became rivers; and his body, bones, hair, marrow, and sweat became the world's mountains, stars, metals, jade, rain, and dew. 86

Sha Qi and World Decline

Conflict and slaughter damage Heaven and Earth, producing Sha Qi. The greater the strength of those fighting, the more Sha Qi is generated; once it accumulates beyond its limit, a great calamity erupts and draws living beings into tribulation. 89

During the Dragon-Han Calamity, the Three Clans' war affected cultivators across the world and filled Heaven and Earth with calamity qi. 57 After realizing they had been manipulated, Ancestral Dragon, Primordial Phoenix, and Primordial Qilin sacrificed themselves to repair the damaged world and impose duties upon their surviving clans. 61

The world's races form a rigid hierarchy in which stronger groups exploit weaker ones. During the Three Clans' era, most races were compelled to submit to one of the three dominant factions or disappear. 17 18

Rogue cultivators gather in places such as Sunfire Lake and Heavenly Treasure City, but high-grade cultivation methods, pills, and treasures remain scarce outside major clans. 18 19 21
