Background
Di Jiang was originally an ordinary Earth wage earner and online writer who particularly enjoyed Primordial World novels. He transmigrated into the body of Di Jiang, one of the Twelve Ancestral Witches, in the era after the Dao-Demon War and before the Witch-Demon Calamity. Accepting his identity, he resolved to change the Witch Clan’s doomed future. 1
After spending 100,000 years absorbing energy in Pangu Hall’s Blood Pool, he became the first of the Twelve Ancestral Witches to take form. He soon discovered that baleful energy was eroding his Primordial Spirit—then found the Earthly Dao Treasured Mirror, a treasure left by Pangu that protects and preserves it. 1
The Mirror gives Di Jiang a path fundamentally different from the traditional Ancestral Witch route. Rather than abandoning the Primordial Spirit in favor of physical cultivation and laws, he safeguards both body and soul, intending to use the Earthly Dao, the Netherworld, and the Six Paths of Reincarnation to overturn the Heavenly Dao’s control. 2 3 4
Appearance
In his true form, Di Jiang resembles a yellow sack as red as burning fire, with six legs and four wings but no face or fixed shape. He is the Ancestral Witch associated with Space and Speed. 1
In human form, he is a handsome, powerfully built man with sharp features and a gentle smile.
- Wears a crimson Daoist robe. 1
- Keeps his hair bound with a jade hairpin. 1
- Wears a green jade pendant at his waist. 1
- Can manifest four wings surrounded by spatial turbulence in battle. 6 12
Personality
Di Jiang is calculating, ambitious, and unusually informed for an Ancestral Witch because of his memories from Earth. He consistently plans several moves ahead: securing cultivation methods, founding the Witch Clan only when conditions favor it, arranging future Netherworld Sages, and preparing separate paths through his avatars. 7 10 41 42
As the eldest of the Twelve Ancestral Witches, he is stern but protective. He chastises Zhurong and Gong Gong for their constant brawling, guides his siblings’ cultivation, shares resources with them, and places the Witch Clan’s survival above immediate gratification. 1 4 19 40
He is also ruthless toward enemies. He orchestrates the seizure of the Nine-Turn Origin Technique, coerces Mosquito Daoist and Ming He into discipleship, takes powerful treasures from opponents, and is willing to kill powerful foes when he judges the karmic consequences acceptable. 9 18 19 25 37
Abilities & Skills
Dao of Space and Speed
Di Jiang’s innate law grants him exceptional spatial movement, battlefield control, and offensive power.
- Travels through space instantaneously and shields allies while crossing Chaos. 5
- Forms Spatial Blades capable of overwhelming Zhun Ti, Dijun, and Taiyi. 6 17
- Creates spatial turbulence and black holes that absorb or destroy enemy attacks. 12 37
- His control of space steadily improves through combat and ordinary use of law-based abilities. 12 15
Dual Body and Primordial Spirit Cultivation
Unlike ordinary Ancestral Witches, Di Jiang cultivates both his physical body and his protected Primordial Spirit.
- The Earthly Dao Treasured Mirror prevents baleful energy from eroding his Primordial Spirit. 1
- The Nine-Turn Profound Technique cultivates the body, while the Nine-Turn Origin Technique cultivates the Primordial Spirit. 9
- The Earthly Dao Treasured Mirror restores both techniques into the Nine-Turn Profound Origin Technique, which cultivates body and soul together. 10
- Using law-based divine abilities also accelerates the technique’s cultivation, making battle and practice mutually reinforcing. 15
- The technique offers a path toward the Primordial Great Firmament Golden Immortal realm rather than relying on the Three Corpses Method. 10 16
Earthly Dao Treasured Mirror
A Pangu-given treasure bound to Di Jiang’s true spirit and described as the embodiment of the Earthly Dao. 1
- Protects and strengthens Primordial Spirits against baleful energy. 1 3
- Conceals heavenly secrets, preventing the Heavenly Dao from easily discovering the Ancestral Witches’ Primordial Spirits. 6
- Restores divided techniques or objects to their original form, including the Nine-Turn Profound Origin Technique. 10
- Suppresses cultivators and spirit treasures through the authority of the Earthly Dao. 24 25
- Cleanses ownership imprints and can erase a spirit treasure’s intelligence; Di Jiang uses it to claim the Chaos Bell. 19
- Places restrictions on disciples that allow Di Jiang to detect betrayal and destroy their true spirits at will. 18
- Contains seven strands of Netherworld Primordial Purple Qi, intended to create Di Jiang and six additional Netherworld Sages. 3 19
Avatar-Slaying Method
Di Jiang uses the Mirror’s Avatar-Slaying Method to sever three independent avatars that remain obedient to his original body. 10
- Di Hai — first avatar; assigned to pursue a Heavenly Dao Sage path and examine Hongjun’s Dao lineage. 10 42
- Di Liu — second avatar; initially intended for a Human Dao Sage path, later described as focusing on physical-body laws and Pangu’s foundational Dao base. 10 42
- Third avatar — remains unformed and reserved for the future emergence of the Human Race. 10 42
Sage Power and Twelve Capitals Gods-Fiends Formation
After becoming a Sage, Di Jiang’s power surpasses the combined resistance of multiple Quasi-Sages and allows him to wield Primordial Supreme Treasures at their full potential. 36 37 38
- Defeats the Three Pure Ones, Jie Yin, Zhun Ti, Dijun, and Taiyi with a single Sage-level strike. 37
- Activates the Twelve Capitals Gods-Fiends Formation with all twelve Ancestral Witches. 38 39
- Summons Pangu’s True Body, which wields the Heaven-Opening Axe and cleaves the Heavenly Dao’s incarnation apart. 39
- Uses the Pangu Banner, Chaos Bell, and Taiji Diagram together to block the World-Destroying Heavenly Punishment. 38
