Background / History

Fugaku leads the Uchiha Clan during a period of mounting political pressure from Konoha. During his leadership dispute with Uchiha Zongren, he cites his efforts in the Third Shinobi World War and his “steady” policies as the reasons the clan retains its current security and status. 11

Zongren and his supporters condemn Fugaku’s compromises with Konoha as cowardice, citing the clan’s lost wartime gains, forced relocation, and suspicion after the Nine-Tails Attack. Fugaku rejects Zongren’s proposed rebellion, arguing that confronting Konoha directly would drag the clan into ruin; he ultimately challenges Zongren to a fight for the clan headship. 11
