Wazik Leia recalled a record in his family archives: bombard the Burned Tower with enough force to destroy it and disrupt the energy around it, and the entrance to the Spirit World would open.
The entrance before the Burned Tower had opened that way once before. Agatha had come to the rescue, destroying some of the evil spirits and vengeful ghosts that drained human life force and sending the rest back to the Spirit World.
He had hesitated at first. But when the festival ended and laughter rose from the crowd, that once-cheerful sound grated on his ears.
Now Wazik Leia wanted all of Ecruteak City to become another Burned Tower. He wanted the wretches below to perish along with it.
He would open the entrance to the Spirit World and turn all of Ecruteak City into a living hell.
"Archeops, use Flamethrower on the Burned Tower! Destroy it completely!"
"Roar..."
Archeops heard the madness in his trainer's voice. He couldn't understand why he was being told to attack a place where a Legendary Pokémon had once lived.
The Burned Tower had been struck by lightning, and the mighty Lugia had long since departed, but a trace of Divine Might still lingered before it.
That made Archeops wary. Pokémon revered Legendary Pokémon no less than humans did.
But Wazik Leia didn't care whether Divine Might lingered there. All he wanted now was to destroy Ecruteak City.
"Didn't you hear me? Use Flamethrower on the Burned Tower!"
At his trainer's shout, Archeops unleashed a torrent of flame despite his misgivings, aiming straight for the Burned Tower.
As the flames descended from the sky, the waiting Misdreavus (Flutter Mane) appeared before the tower. Just before the fire could reach it, she released a wave of pink Fairy-type energy that canceled out the
