While Lin Mo was fighting hard through the Roxanne Gym challenge, sunlight streamed through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows of the Devon Corporation's top-floor office, casting warm patches of light across the floor.
Steven sat behind a broad desk, cradling a Pokémon Egg in his arms.
The eggshell was pale blue, covered in silvery-white spiral patterns like traces left by moonlight's kiss. Every now and then, it gave a gentle shake, as though the life inside were curiously observing the world beyond.
"This Egg looks far from ordinary."
A gentle voice sounded beside Steven. Wallace approached slowly with a cup of steaming black tea in hand, his clear eyes slightly upturned at the corners and carrying a naturally soft smile.
His signature long turquoise hair was loosely tied behind his head, with a few stray strands falling over the side of his fair neck, making his complexion seem even more luminous.

The cuffs of his fitted white shirt were rolled up, revealing his elegantly shaped forearms. His fingertips, cool to the touch, lightly brushed the eggshell and immediately felt the faint stirring from within.
"Whose Egg is it? Judging by the patterns, it looks somewhat like a Dragon-type Pokémon's."
Steven lowered his head to gaze at the Egg in his arms. His fingers gently traced the patterns on its shell, and an unconsciously soft smile curved across his lips.
"Good eye. It's a Dratini Egg."
"A Dratini?"
Wallace raised his brows, surprise filling his eyes as his tone carried a hint of disbelief.
"From Kanto's Dragon Clan? They've always valued Dragon-type Pokémon above everything else. How could they bear to give you a Dratini Egg?"
At the mention of this, Steven could not help chuckling. He lightly tapped the smooth eggshell with a fingertip, producing a crisp little sound.
"It was all thanks to that kid Lin Mo."
After a brief pause, his fingers continued rubbing the spiral patterns on the shell as he went on.
"Lance had previously asked me for Old Amber and revived an Aerodactyl from it.
"Later, I deliberately mentioned that unknown fossil he had dismissed back then. After I gave it to Lin Mo to revive, it turned out to contain a Tyrantrum.
"I also happened to send him the data from the company's genetic database on the evolved Tyrantrum's gene chain. The moment he finished reading it, his eyes went red, and he wanted my other unknown fossil with the feather imprint."
Wallace paused slightly, his warm tea rippling faintly against the cup's inner wall as intense curiosity flashed in his eyes.
"Oh? Could that Plume Fossil also revive a Pokémon with Dragon typing? Your luck is ridiculous. Every fossil you casually dig up seems to revive into a Dragon-type Pokémon."
"When have I ever had that kind of luck?" Steven waved a hand, a barely noticeable cunning hidden in his tone as amusement flickered in his eyes.
"According to the information in its gene chain, the revived Pokémon is a Flying- and Rock-type Pokémon called Archen. It has absolutely nothing to do with Dragon types."
"Pfft—"
Wallace nearly sprayed out the tea he had just swallowed. He hurriedly set down his cup, covered his mouth, and laughed until his shoulders trembled lightly, tears even appearing at the corners of his eyes.
"Flying and Rock type? And Lance still traded with you? He even gave you a Dratini Egg in exchange?"
"That was because he jumped to conclusions on his own."
Steven shrugged, the mischief in his eyes deepening. "I told him I had dug up two unknown fossils, but I never said they had been excavated together from the same place.
"I did mention that the fossil with the big-jawed imprint revived into Tyrantrum, once an ancient ruler of the land. So maybe the feather-marked fossil could revive into an ancient Dragon-type ruler of the skies.
"He probably imagined too much and decided that since the two fossils had been dug up together, they naturally had to both be Dragon types—one a ruler of the land and the other a ruler of the sky. He insisted on trading a Dratini Egg for it."
As Steven spoke, a triumphant smile appeared on his lips. "Besides, Archen has already been revived, and the trade is already done. It's not like he can send it back to me now, can he?"
Wallace held his forehead and shook his head helplessly, though his eyes were full of indulgence.
"Only you would dare joke with Lance like this. If he finds out that the 'Dragon-type fossil sky ruler' he traded for turned out to be a Flying- and Rock-type Archen, he'll probably fly straight to Hoenn to settle the score with you."
"Then let him come." Steven smiled indifferently, with a hint of eagerness in his voice.
"It'll be a good chance to spar with him. Back when we were mining at Kanto's Cinnabar Volcano, he pestered me every day. I gave him an Old Amber, and now I've given him another fossil Pokémon. Trading for one Dratini Egg is hardly a loss for him."
As he spoke, Steven seemed to suddenly think of something. The slyness in his eyes grew stronger as he added with a chuckle.
"And think about it—Lance the Dodrio paired with Archen. Isn't that the perfect combination? They were made for each other!"
The moment those words came out, Wallace burst into laughter. Bracing himself against the desk, he laughed so hard he could barely straighten up.
"Hahaha! Lance the Dodrio paired with Archen... Only you could come up with something like that! If he heard it, he'd probably explode from anger!"
After teasing Lance for a while, the two casually picked up the tablet on the desk. With a tap of their fingers, they opened a livestream.
On the screen was Lin Mo's battle at Rustboro Gym. Amid the flickering light and shadows, the boy's focused profile was clearly visible.
Wallace leaned closer as well, his gaze settling on the screen as he asked with a smile.
"So this is Lin Mo? Being able to catch a Shiny Feebas... his luck is truly enviable."
The moment he finished speaking, Feebas gathered pale blue water energy and struck its opponent directly with a sharp Water Pulse, instantly ending the battle.
The livestream chat had long since become a colorful sea, densely packed with endless praise and astonished comments rolling by.
Steven watched Feebas, which Lin Mo was gently holding in his arms as it excitedly rubbed its head against its trainer's palm. He then recalled the Tyrantrum from the earlier battle, which had perfectly incorporated Dragon Dance into its offensive moves. The smile in his eyes deepened.
"This kid really has some skill. Whether it's Tyrantrum or Feebas, he's raised them with remarkable spirit. What's even rarer is that, at his age, he already has such a strong understanding of Pokémon battles. He's truly quite impressive."
"More than impressive." Wallace moved closer to Steven, a trace of amazement flashing through his eyes.
"Look at this Feebas's move control. Setting aside the opening Whirlpool, Water Pulse soaked the field afterward, then Icy Wind cut in with perfect timing. The transitions were nearly flawless.
"It used the battlefield to the absolute limit. Honestly, it does remind me somewhat of my younger days."
"You really know how to flatter yourself." Steven glanced at him and exposed him without mercy. "Your Feebas back then wasn't nearly this strong, was it?"
Wallace's face reddened slightly, but he forced himself to remain calm as he argued, "It's still a little lacking compared to mine. I just never let my Feebas show you its full strength back then."
"Oh?" Steven raised a brow, drawing out the word teasingly as he looked at Wallace beside him with an amused half-smile.
"But his fondness for livestreaming and attracting attention really is exactly like yours, Master Wallace, the 'Gorgeous Champion.'"
Wallace laughed aloud at that. His fingertips had already landed lightly on the tablet screen, and a mischievous interest gleamed in his eyes.
"In that case, let's add a little Popularity Points for him and join in the fun!"
"Sure, no problem!" Steven nodded in agreement, his tone crisp and decisive.
Before his words had even faded, two dazzling golden fireworks suddenly burst across Lin Mo's livestream. As they bloomed, two gilded pillars of light representing the highest-tier donations shot upward from the bottom of the screen, followed by the thunderous system notification.
[Congratulations to the streamer for receiving a donation of 10,000 League Coins from Steven!][Congratulations to the streamer for receiving a donation of 10,000 League Coins from Wallace!]
As the dazzling light faded, two comments carrying brilliant golden light and official verification badges slowly drifted across the screen, complementing the donation notifications.
[Steven: Not bad. Tyrantrum has been raised very well. Keep it up!] [Wallace: Feebas's move control is excellent, especially that gorgeous opening scene of Whirlpool grinding apart the rocks. I loved it!]
Double donations plus two Champions dropping in—the already lively livestream instantly felt as though a bomb had been dropped into it!
Popularity Points soared wildly at a visible rate, and the viewer count jumped rapidly. In the blink of an eye, it broke past one million, while dense new comments nearly flooded the entire screen.
"Streamer, look at the chat! This is insane—Champion Steven and Master Wallace!!!"
"Streamer, hurry up and thank them! You got noticed by two Champions!"
"Holy shit?! Champion Steven and Master Wallace?! And they both donated ten thousand League Coins?!"
