Background / History

Lin Mo caught Feebas while fishing in Dewford Town after it was pulled ashore exhausted and wary. Rather than force contact, he gently transferred it into a bucket, beginning their partnership. 2

He named it Xiao Mei and made it the focus of his “Shiny Feebas Training Diary” livestreams. Although viewers initially mocked its appearance and its poor Tackle accuracy, Lin Mo consistently trained and praised it, while Feebas steadily improved. 4

Feebas gained public recognition after placing second in the Dewford Town Pokémon swimming race. It relied on timing and energy conservation in the undercurrent zone, then used ice to avoid the reef obstacles and overtake Seaking. 5 6

It later proved itself in Roxanne's Gym battle. After Tyrantrum was defeated, Feebas contained Geodude's attacks with Whirlpool, disrupted its Rollout by freezing the wet ground with Icy Wind, and secured victory with Water Pulse. 29 30

Following its Rustboro Contest performance, Wallace recognized Feebas's unusual move-learning talent and confidence. He provided a Prism Scale shed by his Milotic, which fused to Feebas's back but did not immediately trigger evolution. 45 46

Appearance

As a Shiny Feebas, Xiao Mei has an unusual purple-and-silver coloration that distinguishes it from ordinary Feebas. Its unconventional appearance initially attracted mockery, but became part of its livestream appeal. 1 3
