Background & History

Arrival on Earth and the Destroyer

Thor arrives on Earth after Mjolnir becomes separated from him. He meets Nick Fury and Jane Foster, initially treating Fury’s authority with blunt contempt and being introduced to Fury as an out-of-town “savage.” 181

While the Destroyer attacks, Thor is badly defeated before Mjolnir returns to him. Lightning restores his armor and power, allowing him to re-enter the battle as the God of Thunder. 183 He leads the assault on the Destroyer and later works with Fury, who distracts the construct so Thor can deliver the decisive strike with Mjolnir. 184 185

Avengers Initiative and Loki’s Invasion

Thor returns to Earth to take Loki into Asgardian custody and reclaim the Tesseract.
