After reading for a while, she got up and went to the girls' bathroom where Moaning Myrtle was. She had promised to come play with her.
"Oh, hi, Mya Mu. You finally came to see me. I thought you'd forgotten about Moaning Myrtle, crying all alone in the bathroom."
As soon as Muya entered the bathroom, Moaning Myrtle emerged from a toilet, floated before Muya, and wiped away her tears.
"Sorry, Myrtle," Muya apologized sincerely.
Seeing this, Moaning Myrtle stopped complaining. Muya conjured a chair to sit on, then opened the book in her hands.
Thinking that Moaning Myrtle had once been a Ravenclaw student, Muya thought she might know the meanings of the words in the book that Muya did not understand.
She pointed at a word and asked, "Myrtle, do you know this word?"
"Let me see. It's Ancient Runes. This sentence means that alchemy can be combined with Ancient Runes." As expected of a Ravenclaw student, Muya smiled in satisfaction.
"What about this one, dear Myrtle?"
"This is the name of a mountain range, the Cumbrian Mountains. There's Lapis Lazuli there, which is also a rather important Alchemy Material."
"By the way, are you studying alchemy?" Moaning Myrtle floated in front of Muya in a reclining position, amusement in her eyes.
Muya nodded. "That's right."
"Oh, right. Are you free tonight?"
Muya thought about it. Since she still had to go to Snape's office that afternoon, she told Moaning Myrtle that she would come over if she had time.
As usual, Muya went to Snape's office.
"Professor, what am I doing today?"
Snape glanced at her. "Come process these materials first."
After helping Snape, Muya finished dinner and went to the Room of Requirement to retrieve something.
Night fell. Muya was on the fourth floor, about to go find Moaning Myrtle, when she suddenly heard Harry shouting, along with several sets of footsteps.
Could Harry and the other two have been caught by Filch? Snape had finally gone to bed early for once today, so he probably hadn't come out.
After a while, Muya decided to take a look because she had not heard Filch's voice.
When she found Harry and the others, they were standing in front of a wall, while a group of people approached from behind her.
"Ya Ya, why are you here? Did you come with that Potter?" It was Draco, pointing at Harry in the distance.
"No, Draco. She only got here a second before us." Theodore walked over.
Muya saw students already heading toward the trio and said calmly on the surface, "Let's go take a look first."
Ahhh, why are there so many people here?!
After walking behind Harry and the others, Muya was startled. Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris, had been hung by her tail from a torch bracket, her body stiff as stone.
The surrounding chatter came to an abrupt stop.
Words were written on the wall: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware.
Suddenly, someone broke the silence. "Enemies of the heir, beware! You Muggles will be next!" Draco had originally wanted to say Mudbloods, but he remembered that Muya might know it was an insult.
Muya rubbed her ears. Draco had said it right beside her, and rather loudly too. She turned to glance at him, and his face was flushed red.
Noticing Muya's gaze, Draco instantly regretted it. He had forgotten that Muya seemed to be a Muggle too. Oh no, oh no!
"I-I wasn't talking about you. I can protect you," he hurriedly tried to make up for it.
Muya looked utterly confused, but she still nodded.
Harry turned around, just about to say something. "What's happened here? What's happened?"
Filch's voice came closer and closer. He pushed through the crowd with his shoulder, and when he saw Mrs. Norris, he staggered back several steps and fell to the ground, covering his face in horror.
Muya turned away. As a cat owner, she could not bear to watch this.
"My cat! What happened to Mrs. Norris?"
His gaze suddenly shifted to Harry's face, and he screamed, "You! You killed my cat!"
"Mr. Filch, perhaps it isn't like that. Pr-Professor Dumbledore will investigate." Muya sighed and pulled Filch to his feet in full view of everyone.
Filch wept silently. "Those three were the first ones standing here. If it wasn't them, then who else could it be? Miss Muya!" Muya froze and pressed her lips together.
"Argus!" Everyone looked toward the source of the voice.
Dumbledore had arrived, with the other professors following behind him. Snape's expression was especially unpleasant.
Who could understand? I had just dozed off and was about to drift into sleep, only for Dumbledore to wake me up.
Dumbledore took Mrs. Norris down from where she was hanging.
Someone finally remembered that I was still hanging up here.
Dumbledore called Filch, the trio, and Muya to Lockhart's office.
Because Lockhart had enthusiastically said that his office was closer.
Lockhart's office was much the same as the last time Muya had visited, though it seemed to have gained several more photographs of him.
Muya stood a little farther back, beside Snape. Snape glanced at her before withdrawing his gaze.
A minute later, Lockhart began spouting nonsense again. "It must have been killed by a curse, most likely the Transfiguration Torture Curse. I've seen others use that curse many times. What a pity I wasn't there at the time. I happen to know the countercurse—I could have saved it..."
Then Muya heard Dumbledore muttering strange words and tapping Mrs. Norris's body with his wand.
Lockhart said more nonsense, but Muya did not listen.
Dumbledore said, "She isn't dead, Filch. She has been petrified."
"A Petrification Curse, Professor?" Muya tugged softly on Snape's robe and whispered.
Snape raised an eyebrow. "I don't know."
Filch still believed Harry had done it.
"A second-year student could not possibly accomplish this. It requires the most advanced Dark Magic," Dumbledore said firmly.
"If I may say something, Headmaster," Snape spoke from the shadows. "Perhaps Potter and his friends simply should not have been in that place at that time."
"But why exactly were they in the upstairs corridor? Why did they not attend the Halloween feast?" After speaking, he looked again at Muya, who was still holding his robe. "And Miss Muya, after leaving my office, where did you go?"
What? Professor, how could you do this? How could you drag me into it too?
Muya glared resentfully at Snape. "I came down from the Seventh Floor." She took out the bottle in her hand.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron explained that they had gone to the ghosts' Deathday Party.
But Snape asked several more questions that stumped Harry. He did not know how to explain the sound that had come from something he did not know.
