Dumbledore glanced at Muya, clearly knowing where she had been. "Investigate further. Anyone not proven guilty is innocent, Severus," he said firmly.
"But what about my cat?" Filch shrieked.
Dumbledore said patiently, "We will heal her. Professor Sprout recently obtained some Mandrakes. Once they are grown and mature, a potion can be brewed to bring Mrs. Norris back to life."
Lockhart, standing in front of Muya, interjected, "Leave it to me. I've brewed it a hundred times."
Muya chuckled inwardly, then retaliated by yanking Snape's robe hard.
Snape looked down at her, understanding the meaning conveyed by Muya's eyes: That guy is stealing your job.
"I believe I am the Potions teacher at this school."
The scene fell silent. Muya felt Lockhart's embarrassment and wondered who gave him the courage to dance before the youngest Potions prodigy.
"Ahem, you three should go back now," Dumbledore said, looking at Harry and the other two.
The three exchanged glances, then nodded at Muya and left.
Filch, cradling Mrs. Norris, also departed.
Seeing this, Dumbledore burst out laughing. "Haha, this is youth."
"I confess," Muya said, raising her right hand.
"Mmm-hmm, it seems our Miss Muya is quite self-aware," Snape said, taking back his robe.
Professor Sprout patted Muya's head. "Child, we are not on trial here."
Muya nodded. "I went to the Room of Requirement."
The statement seemed to shock all the professors. Muya noticed all eyes were on her.
"It really was in the Room of Requirement," Lockhart muttered softly.
In the corner, a female professor Muya hadn't seen before, wearing glasses and with messy hair wrapped in a scarf, was muttering something Muya couldn't understand.
"What were you doing there?" Snape asked again.
Muya took out the bottle again and handed it to Snape. "This is a semi-finished potion I made in the Room of Requirement."
Snape looked at it and returned the bottle to Muya.
McGonagall spoke up, "It's very late now. She should go back to sleep."
Muya sent a grateful look to McGonagall.
"Go back, child."
"Goodnight, professors."
Muya hadn't forgotten she had class tomorrow and didn't want to be late and get punished.
In the History of Magic classroom, it was as drowsy as usual. Muya was doodling, having recently decided to modify a certain doll.
She also thought about Fred and George wanting to develop anti-curse hats, cloaks, and gloves, which required casting the Shield Charm, something she hadn't learned yet.
Class soon ended. Muya and Shalian nudged the half-asleep Hannah and Susan.
In the hallway, many students were discussing the petrification of Mrs. Norris.
As for the wall with writing on it, Filch had been scrubbing it all day, but the words still gleamed on the wall.
In the afternoon, Muya went to find Calori.
"Good afternoon, Calori," Muya said after greeting him, then changed to a chair to sit down.
Calori rested his hands on the grass by the Black Lake. "Good afternoon, Ya."
"You don't seem to be in a good mood. Is it because of what happened last night?" Calori touched Muya's face, his usual smile absent.
Muya was slightly stunned. "You know."
"Of course," Calori said, pulling a book-like diary from the lake. "This is what that little red-haired wizard threw in last time."
"This morning."
Calori chatted with Muya for a while longer, but since it wasn't a suitable time to tell his story, he sent Muya back to eat dinner.
Muya hugged the diary, only then realizing it was the one Ginny always carried. She had thought it was just a book before.
Dinner tonight featured Muya's favorite sweet and sour pork ribs. She hoped they wouldn't add too much sugar like last time.
After dinner, Muya placed the diary on her dormitory desk, then went to find Fred and George.
"Oh, poor little badger, hope you weren't too scared last night." It was unclear what Fred and George had been up to last night, as they weren't among the crowd of students.
Muya had also privately lamented this unlucky Halloween. Last year, a troll had gotten in; this year, Mrs. Norris had been petrified.
Seeing Muya looking listless, the twins exchanged a glance. "Ya Ya, you look like a deflated balloon right now."
"Do you need a warm hug from your big brothers?" The two crouched down to be eye-level with Muya.
"Yes," Muya said, hugging each of them. A smile finally curved her lips.
"Thank you, Mr. Twins."
In the corner, a golden head popped out.
Muya discussed the design drawings for the defensive charm set and its product effects with the two. This was just a conceptual product, as Fred and George had only just started learning the Shield Charm, and Muya hadn't begun yet.
This reminded Muya of the Apparition Snape had taught her; she could still only manage short distances.
Back in the dormitory, Muya sat at her desk, preparing to continue adding details to the doll. Suddenly, the diary she had brought back flipped open to the first page.
Strangely, the name written there wasn't Ginny's, but an unfamiliar one: Tom Riddle.
Muya flipped to the middle of the book, only to find it blank. She wondered why this diary, which clearly didn't belong to Ginny, was in Ginny's possession.
Was it a gift from someone? A friend? Or a pen pal?
While Muya was pondering the origin of the notebook, she didn't notice that text had appeared on the diary's page.
"Hello."
"My name is Tom Riddle."
Snap. Muya closed the diary. Since it was an unfinished diary that no one wanted, she decided not to think about it for now.
"Ya Ya, want to grab some late-night snacks together?" Hannah had just returned from the kitchen. Shalian and Susan were still in the library.
Hearing Hannah, Muya stood up immediately. "Sure." She then went with Hannah to eat the late-night snacks they had brought back.
Diary: Hello? Can you see me? You're not blind, are you?
Because Muya had received too many candies last year, and Hermione had educated her on the dangers of cavities this year, she wasn't planning on trick-or-treating this year.
Muya once again arrived at her least favorite class: Flying class.
Because of her fear of heights, Muya couldn't fly too high. She preferred the leisurely, slow-paced feeling of flying low.
"Why are you flying so low and so slowly?" Draco suddenly swooped down from above, arriving next to Muya.
"I can't help it, I have a fear of heights, young master."
