Juzi's Thoughts
None of the three explanations are tenable.
Tang San's choices in these three matters all point to the same problem: he only cares about his own goal and doesn't care about any consequences beyond that goal.
To pass the test, one can destroy a city; to defeat an enemy, one can annihilate an organization; to obtain Godhood, one can interrupt a lineage.
He had a reason for everything he did, but every reason only applied to himself.
These reasons are worthless to ordinary people on the mainland, to those harmed by Evil Soul Master, and to the innocent who lost their protection due to the extinction of the Angel God's Inheritance.
That's why I say Tang San is the true ancestor of Evil Soul Master.
It's not that he himself was Evil Soul Master, but rather that his actions paved the way for the proliferation of Evil Soul Master.
He is the cause; the Holy Spirit Cult is the result.
Without him, there would have been no Evil Soul Master empire that swept across the continent.
He was the founder of the golden age of Evil Soul Master; whether you like it or not, this is a historical fact.
Haha, I wonder what the consequences would be if I said these things publicly in mainland China.
The disciples of the Tang Sect will curse me, the elders of the Sea God Pavilion will bang on the table, and the students of the Shrek Academy who idolize Tang San might band together to block my door.
But this diary is about history, not a romantic drama.
History doesn't discriminate based on stance, it only discriminates based on cause and effect.
The chain of cause and effect is laid out here; anyone can see it, and anyone can debate it.
If I can't win the argument, then I'll just have to accept it. I have Transcendent Divine Artifact, I have Ultimate Douluo Puppet. Even if that old bastard Mu En comes, he'll have to obediently kneel down before me.
Xiao Xiao returned to her dormitory from outside and had just lain down when she saw that her diary had started updating.
As I read through it bit by bit, the diary in my mind had just finished its last page. I picked up some snacks from the bedside table and ate them while reading Lin Ye's diary.
"Tang San is the true ancestor of Evil Soul Master..."
She chewed on those words twice, shook her head, then nodded, her expression as complicated as if she'd eaten a plate of strange-flavored beans mixed with all sorts of sour, sweet, bitter, and spicy tastes.
In the education she received, Tang San was the perfect hero. The textbooks described how he saved the continent, how he was made a god, and how he and his wife continued to protect the human world in the Divine Realm.
She had looked at that portrait countless times; the Sea God's golden armor, Golden Trident, and eight dazzling wings on his back—he seemed to be a radiant and great figure.
But Lin Ye tore a hole in the portrait today, allowing her to see the unknown shadows behind it.
"But everything Lin Ye said is true,"
Xiao Xiao muttered to herself, her voice muffled. "It's a fact that the Eight-Spider Lance devoured the Soul Beast, it's a fact that the Slaughter City was destroyed, and it's also a fact that the Spirit Hall was destroyed and the Angel God's Inheritance was severed."
These things, taken individually, are not problematic, but strung together, they form a complete and irrefutable causal chain.
She suddenly remembered a file she had found in the Shrek City library a while ago, which recorded the changes in the number of Evil Soul Master cases within the Two Great Empires in the fifty years after the collapse of the Slaughter City.
That number was a straight upward slant line, soaring from the bottom to the top in a frighteningly steep way.
When she looked at that file, she only felt that evil Evil Soul Master Evil Soul Master were truly hateful, and never thought about why there were suddenly so many of them.
Now, after Lin Ye pointed it out, she realized that the starting point of that diagonal line was the year the Slaughter City collapsed.
"We've studied history for so many years, and no one has ever taught us these things."
Xiao Xiao sighed, "The history teachers probably don't know either, or if they do, they're afraid to say it. After all, who would dare say Tang San is wrong? If they did, they'd be drowned in the spittle of the entire college."
Ju Zi put the Soul Tool blueprints aside and rubbed her temples.
She had been so engrossed in making the Soul Tool that she had read Lin Ye's entire diary in her mind that she was completely absorbed in it. Fortunately, she snapped out of it in time and made no mistakes.
She rolled up the drawings, put them aside, leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and reviewed Lin Ye's analysis again.
Although Ju Zi hasn't yet come into contact with the power center of the Sun Moon Empire, she has already been working her way up under Xu Tianran for many years.
Although he appears to be a student, he is exposed to far more political intrigue than an ordinary Soul Master.
Therefore, her understanding of Lin Ye's diary entry was naturally much deeper than that of others.
In her view, Lin Ye's diary entry was not only a moral judgment of Tang San, but also an extremely insightful report on cause and effect.
The devouring logic of the Eight-Spider Lance laid the foundation for the bloodline; the collapse of the Slaughter City released the seeds; and the destruction of the Spirit Hall and the severance of the Angel God dismantled the fences.
Each of the three lines is an independent causal chain, but all three converge on Tang San and ultimately point to the same result.
She picked up a quill pen and casually drew an arrow on the blank paper in front of her. The starting point of the arrow was written "Tang San" and the ending point was written "Holy Spirit Cult".
Then, next to the arrow, he wrote four words: "Cause and effect established".
After writing it down, she glanced at it twice, then held the note up to the candle flame and burned it.
Ju Zi tapped her fingers lightly on the table, her expression gradually turning cold.
She thought of Huo Yuhao.
If we analyze Huo Yuhao using the same analytical method Lin Ye used today, separating the benefits brought by the Spirit Transference System from Huo Yuhao's personal character, the conclusion will be the same.
Merits are merits, and character is character; neither should be concealed. She can use this framework in many areas in the future.
In her opinion, Lin Ye's analysis wasn't particularly insightful.
However, Lin Ye possessed far more information than they did.
How could they possibly know what happened ten thousand years ago?
How could anyone possibly know what Tang San actually did?
How could anyone possibly know what the Two Great Empires would face later? What would the Spirit Hall face?
Information asymmetry resulted in a vast difference between the information they received and that of Lin Ye.
However, on the other hand, Lin Ye's ability to obtain so much information is due to his own skill, and we shouldn't dismiss Lin Ye as a person because of that.
In Ju Zi's opinion, even if Lin Ye doesn't have that so-called familiarity with the original work, just look at the logical reasoning and analytical abilities he demonstrates when writing his diary.
Even if he wasn't a so-called time traveler and didn't know about things ten thousand years ago, ten thousand years later, or even twenty thousand or thirty thousand years later, he could still be a very good prime minister.
If possible, once she becomes the Empress of the Sun Moon Empire, she will definitely invite Lin Ye to serve as her regent, and she might even make an exception and grant Lin Ye the position of regent.
However, Ju Zi smiled helplessly, deciding that it was just a thought and nothing more.
Let alone the future, it will take her at least 10 to 8 years to ascend to the throne of the Sun Moon Empire.
He's already considered the number one person on the continent. In eight or ten years, even the Divine Realm probably won't be able to keep him.
