Should I believe her?
Who was it that had stolen my comic books, snatched my game console, eaten my cake, worn my little skirts, and then acted cute while accusing me first ever since childhood?!
Sigh, forget it... she sighed inwardly. She is my sister, after all.
"Sorry, An Yu."
Kiana flexed her wrists, her gaze turning dangerous. Who told you to be a traitorous guide?!
To avoid this awful sister of mine, I even ran away from home and flew more than seven thousand kilometers. More than seven thousand!!!
"W-Wait, Kiana!"
Bronya hurriedly spoke up, but she did not move a single step. She merely closed her eyes reflexively.
She was still too late. With a muffled bang, An Yu had already slapped Kiana flat onto the floor.
Kiana curled up as her body spasmed uncontrollably. There was not the slightest trace of defiance in her, only piercing pain that made her let out weak, intermittent whimpers unconsciously, barely breathing.
Sirin, you motherf—! If he had really bullied you, would you have made it back alive to complain to me?
Only then did Bronya dare open her eyes. She hurried over to help up her best friend, her face filled with concern. "Why would you fight him? An Yu can score over fifty-two points with five shots while shooting a sniper rifle one-handed in Anti-Entropy."
An Yu's score only hovered between 10.1 and 10.9. In every respect, his physique was monstrous.
"Besides, are you sure she's really your biological sister?"
She looked toward Sirin in the distance, who still had enough backbone to forcibly "raise her little face," and asked a soul-searching question.
"Ask again and she'll be your sister!"
Kiana had barely recovered enough ability to think before instinctively retorting.
To hell with family honor. Kiana's body was still trembling as she pulled aside her clothes. Using the flexibility of her waist, she barely managed to see a tiny part of the wound on her back. It was turning dark purple, with little spots of blood beginning to seep out.
"W-Wait! You can't hit me after hitting my little sister!"
Seeing An Yu turn his gaze toward her, Sirin finally snapped out of her enormous shock. Her wide-open mouth immediately shut, and her proudly raised chin instantly lowered.
Even now, she could not understand how her younger sister, a specially recruited student with strength like a monster, had been perfectly dodged and then executed on the spot.
You're so strong, so why were you still experimented on in the dream?!
An Yu flashed a brilliant smile. "Sorry, but I've believed in equality between men and women since I was little."
"An Yu! I'm the eldest daughter of the Kaslana Family! You dare—ugh!"
Ugh—waaah!!
An Yu, this isn't over between us! It's not over!
Sob, sob, sob~
P.S. Tomorrow is Sunday, so the update will be later.
Volume 1: Chapter 33 — Stop Making Sister Kiana Laugh
"What a little brat."
After giving the bawling Sirin one last glance, An Yu remembered that this was the boss's office and looked apologetically at Bronya.
"You really don't know how to go easy on girls."
Bronya's lips twitched as well. She had no intention of standing up for Kiana.
Rather, the fact that she had not stood up for An Yu from the start was only because Kiana was her best friend. An Yu's personality made it impossible for him to bully children for no reason... though An Yu could slap Kiana straight into a wall.
"If I pity them, who'll pity me? Just because she has her reasons, I'm supposed to not hit her?"
"My family taught me from childhood that men and women are equal!"
An Yu declared righteously.
Weren't you an orphan?
Bronya had countless complaints in her heart, but she did not say them aloud.
Then—
She heard Kiana grinding her teeth.
"Awesome..."
?
Bronya froze. What had Kiana just said? An Yu had not hit her head, had he? She reflexively tightened the arm wrapped around Kiana.
Bestie, don't awaken some weird fetish!
Just as she was at a loss, she heard Kiana add in a voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz, every word dripping with resentment.
"Sirin, you totally deserved it... ah!"
"An Yu, keep going. Don't stop..."
Are you two really biological sisters?
Though Bronya herself had often pinned down Kyo and Liliya, those two mortal enemies, and beaten them up before.
But Kiana did not dare say it loudly in the end. She could only sulk by herself. They looked like real sisters, the kind with grudges that had built up over many years.
"Then I'll head back to work first."
As An Yu opened the door to leave, he glanced at Sirin again. The bawling girl instantly stopped crying, forcefully holding back her tears as her watery eyes looked as though they could burst at any moment.
"Boss, can you handle this kid?"
An Yu's final question came from outside the door, his voice already back to its usual tone.
"I... I'll be fine. Go back to work."
Bronya's sympathy made her squeeze out a reluctant smile.
Actually, she was not fine. She hated bratty kids—Liliya, Rozaliya, Kyo, and Mei when she was little.
After An Yu left, the tears on the other side had stopped too. However, two little pearls still occasionally fell from Sirin's watery eyes with little plops as she wiped them away and sniffled.
"I'll say this first: if you plan to use your family's power to take revenge, Anti-Entropy won't stand by and watch."
Sirin wanted to glare fiercely at Bronya, but the moment she exerted herself, tears began to fall again.
"I..."
She tried her best to make her voice sound less broken.
"I won't do something so tasteless."
"But that traitor and I aren't finished!"
Bronya seemed to sense something and lowered her head. She discovered that after hearing those words, Kiana's pained expression had somehow forced out the faintest smile.
Kiana tightly gripped Bronya's fingers. Like she was offering last words before death, she spoke quietly, with a touch of anticipation. "He... won't go easy on girls, right...?"
What did that mean? Did you want revenge too?
"No."
Bestie, don't do anything stupid!
That's good, that's good. Kiana looked deeply relieved, as though some burden had finally been lifted, and completely collapsed into Bronya's arms.
"Kiana! Kiana!!! Don't scare me like that!!!"
"What happened in the office?"
When An Yu returned to his workstation, lunch break had not ended yet. The moment he sat down, several coworkers he was on good terms with gathered around him.
"A brat showed up, so I gave her a beating."
"Awesome! I've been sick of those bratty kids for ages. By the way, didn't the boss say anything to you?"
"The boss is so protective of her people. She's probably secretly laughing inside."
An Yu guessed. Bronya was pretty sly too, after all. He had heard that Kyo, Liliya, and Rozaliya had been beaten by her so badly as children that they lost all temper.
However, Bronya did not find it funny at all. Looking at Sirin beside her, she felt that the modeler she had finally recruited was about to go home.
Kiana was the strongest modeler, skilled in using the Heaven-Tier Technique: Ghost Possession, endlessly refining the beauty in her heart!
"Leave?"
Kiana, who had finally caught her breath, sneered twice and typed furiously. "This young lady is living here this year! If Sirin doesn't leave, I'm not leaving!"
She had not even seen Sirin cry in all sorts of ways yet. How could she possibly leave?
Otherwise, would she not have taken that slap for nothing? Hiss! Her back touched the chair again, making her suck in a sharp breath.
The medicine on her back was still cold. Damn it, An Yu, why didn't you just slap me to death? At least that would have been quick.
Bronya: "Are you sure you don't want to go home and rest today? Concern.jpg"
Kiana: "Rest? Has Sirin finished crying? FierceCat.jpg"
Kiana: "By the way, can you reveal employees' home addresses here? I'll pay to rent her a place."
Kiana: "If Sirin thinks the feng shui is bad, I'll pay to move An Yu somewhere else. The two of them should meet every day!"
With Sirin's vindictive—or rather, petty—personality, there would definitely be another conflict. Maybe she would get slapped straight into the ground.
Sirin was easy to coax, but An Yu did not look like someone who would coax strangers.
Bronya: ...
So you two sisters really have a great relationship.
After hesitating for a moment, Bronya still resisted the urge to watch the show. "We can't really reveal that."
Kiana: "That's fine. I'll pay someone to find her! I want to see how many times she has to get beaten into crying before she learns to behave."
Kiana gritted her teeth. She stopped obsessing over modeling and directly asked the seniors to help her improve it, then checked her little savings.
She still had quite a bit of money. Since Sirin often snatched her things, she had not felt much desire to spend money anyway.
A grudge for a grudge, a debt for a debt. She had started this incident, so it was already fortunate that An Yu did not hold a grudge against her... but as for Sirin, the true culprit, she was furiously adding entries to her mental notebook.
Bronya: "Honestly, your mindset reminds me of romance dramas I watched as a child. Then your sister will probably awaken some weird fetish, followed by a bunch of inexplicable developments, and finally a happy ending."
Most romance dramas went like that anyway. Enemies became rivals, then somehow one saved the other like a hero rescuing a beauty, or some small matter moved them, and they ended up with a happy ending.
Kiana: "I'd love nothing more than for her to get married!!!"
There would not be any plot where she helped stand up for her sister after marriage—after all, she could not beat him either—but just thinking about Sirin getting slapped into a wall made her happy!
No matter how deep the grudge or hatred, the moment she thought of Sirin possibly marrying a man who could hold up a sniper rifle one-handed without losing accuracy, she instantly felt at peace. Even if Sirin could not get married, watching her take a few more beatings would still brighten her mood.
What? You say An Yu might be a good man in private?
Stop making Sister Kiana laugh. Once he slaps you into a wall, you won't have those fantasies anymore.
Volume 1: Chapter 34 — Running Away Is Shameful but Useful
Today had been fairly pleasant. Although he had run into a bratty little girl, he had personally taught her a lesson, so she could not affect his mood.
When he returned home, a fine drizzle fell outside the window. Elysia sat with her shapely legs pressed together, her snowy cheek gently resting against the cold glass as she quietly gazed at the sky beyond the hazy curtain of rain.
It should have been a tranquil and beautiful scene, but An Yu's gaze only lingered on the untouched breakfast on the table.
"I wasn't very hungry today."
Elysia came back to herself, seemingly only now noticing that the sky had darkened. It was no longer merely dim from the clouds covering it.
"It's fine."
An Yu shrugged, his tone casual, and tossed the breakfast into the trash.
He walked over to his older sister and leaned against the windowsill as well, though he did not sit on it.
"Sorry..."
Elysia apologized on her own initiative, and An Yu tilted his head in confusion.
"What's there to apologize for? If you don't have an appetite, then don't eat."
He smiled and exhaled, seeming somewhat relieved. "Isn't making money meant to let us be a little more willful in life?"
"If you get hungry tonight, we'll order a late-night snack. We're not living in poverty like we used to."
Elysia turned her gaze back outside. The gloomy sky was no longer bright, but the night breeze through the window dispersed some of the stifling frustration.
