Background / History

Lappland grew up alongside Celinina Texas. Although the two were once friends and classmates, their Families increasingly dictated their lives as they grew older. During the purge of the Texas Family, Lappland disrupted the purge force's original plan while pursuing Texas; this enabled Texas to escape, but led to Lappland's expulsion from her own Family and her Oripathy infection. Texas remains unsure whether Lappland acted deliberately to save her. 69

As a child, Lappland secretly watched Maria perform Night Watcher duties and came to desire a place at Maria's side. Maria's elegance, restraint, kindness, and strength made a lasting impression on her, developing into intense admiration and possessiveness. 71 100 154
