Background

Athena was originally forced into marriage with an old count. On the night of her wedding, a powerful mage murdered the count's household and abducted her after recognizing her extraordinary affinity for mana. The mage treated her as a living magical resource, force-feeding her magical materials until her mana reached Grand Sage level while withholding all spell instruction. He intended to drain her accumulated power once she was fully developed. 70

At age twenty-three, Athena was saved by the First-Generation Hero, Jello, who killed her captor and taught her magic. She regarded Jello as irreplaceable and became deeply devoted to him. 70

She joined Jello's Hero's Party, where she served as its strategist and developed an extensive intelligence network spanning nobles, clergy, commoners, merchants, soldiers, and slaves. Her familiarity with her fellow party members was said to surpass their understanding of themselves. 67 71

Following Jello's death, Athena participated in the former party's plan to resurrect him. Qin Chu exploited her attachment to Jello by presenting a Soul Fragment containing a remnant soul and impersonating Jello, drawing Athena into his service while planting doubts about the circumstances of Jello's death. 82 84

Appearance

Athena is a tall, voluptuous woman with chestnut-colored eyes, a high nose bridge, and long, shapely legs. Her face is described as less conventionally striking than some of her peers, but her languid, elegant manner and seductive presence make her exceptionally noticeable. 70 82

  • Usually wears a black, high-slit mage's robe and black high heels. 70 209
  • Has a full, graceful build and a relaxed, alluring bearing. 67 488
  • Her pale complexion and weak posture were used to convincingly feign severe injury during the operation against Rosweisse. 488 492

Personality

Athena is intelligent, meticulous, suspicious, and exceptionally skilled at reading people. She rarely exposes her real thoughts, instead gathering information and testing conclusions until she is satisfied. Her ability to recognize abnormalities in Ekaterina's behavior, investigate Qin Chu, and later infer a connection between Jello and Demon King Nag reflects her analytical nature. 71 81 308 314

Despite her outwardly accommodating and indolent demeanor, Athena can be ruthless, guarded, and highly pragmatic. She viewed the Hero's Party's public reputation as more important than rescuing Karthus, reasoning that saving him could compromise the plan to resurrect Jello. 67 127

Her devotion to Jello initially made her vulnerable to Qin Chu's deception. Once she uncovered evidence that Jello had regarded the party as tools, her love transformed into a determination to expose and destroy his plans. 306 308

Athena possesses extraordinary willpower. She resisted prolonged Evil God corruption, broke free from its influence on several occasions, and endured an erosion that had devastated other powerful individuals. 267 270 434

Mana-Accumulating Constitution

Athena's body can rapidly absorb, purify, and store mana, functioning as a humanoid mana reservoir. 70

  • Her soul's restraints were gradually destroyed by Qin Chu; once fully freed, her growth accelerated dramatically. 397 434

Story Role / Major Arcs

Imperial Capital Surveillance

Athena moved into the Imperial Palace, rapidly established contacts among its soldiers and guards, and placed Eyes of True Vision around Qin Chu's residence. Her surveillance and deductions quickly made her one of Qin Chu's most dangerous observers. 67 71 81

Qin Chu's Jello Deception

After overhearing Qin Chu use the private name “Little Sina,” Athena suspected that Jello's remnant soul was inside him. Qin Chu exploited that conclusion by posing as Jello, using a Soul Fragment to force Athena's compliance and draw mana from her. 81 82 84

Athena searched for Jello's Soul Fragment with Muse, discovered the sealed chamber in the Snowlink Mountains, and encountered the toad-like idol associated with the God of Plague and Misfortune. Her exposure to the chamber awakened plague magic and began a prolonged struggle against soul corruption. 245 252 267

Betrayal by the Twin Thieves

While examining a Soul Fragment, Athena was targeted by Aili and Eileen. Though she blocked their opening attack with Bedrock Armor and attempted to use plague magic against them, exhaustion left her unable to resist their metal threads. She was killed, then healed and revived by Qin Chu and Ileta. 254 255 256

Truth of Jello and Demon King Nag

Athena used rats to find another Soul Fragment and examined it in secret. Through its contents, she concluded that Jello had never loved the Hero's Party and began to suspect that he was alive as, allied with, or fused with Demon King Nag. 305 306 308 314

Liberation and Growth

Qin Chu entered Athena's soul space and destroyed the Evil God statues binding her soul. With her shackles gone, Athena's innate potential emerged, allowing her to reach level 90 and grow stronger at an extraordinary rate. 270 397 434

Deception of Rosweisse

Athena pretended to be severely injured and powerless while coordinating with Qin Chu and Ekaterina. She deceived Rosweisse, who believed Athena had been crippled and lowered her guard before activating the Resurrection Spell. 485 487 489 492
