Background / History

Qin Chu was first summoned to the Skyvault Continent as its Hero during a war against Demonic Beasts. Over seven years, he defeated the Eternal Sovereign, sealed the Dark Witch Saye Nikolas, and drove the Demonic Beasts into the Abyss. He came to regard the Hero’s Party as family and fell in love with the saintess Rosweisse. 1 3

After the war, Qin Chu was betrayed by the people he had trusted. Rosweisse secretly poisoned his medicine to prevent his recovery, while the Hero’s Party and powerful factions arranged his public condemnation and execution. His body was destroyed, his blood was intended for Jello’s resurrection, and the public—turned against him by propaganda—celebrated his death. 1 2 11

Qin Chu had bound his life to Saye Nikolas so that her seal would fail if he died. When his death unsealed her, his conscious soul was drawn to the Sealing Grounds, where Saye intended to use it in a massive sacrificial ritual. Instead, Qin Chu later awakened at the altar where the Thirteen Sages had originally summoned him, retaining his memories of the first life. 2 3

Having returned to the past, Qin Chu conceals his true Authorities behind a false status panel created by Saye. He outwardly plays the role of a cooperative Hero while gathering power, building controllable alliances, and planning revenge against the people who betrayed him. 4 8 11

Personality

Qin Chu changed sharply after his execution. Where he once trusted comrades without reservation, he now treats loyalty and affection as unreliable unless supported by an exchange of benefits or absolute proof. Even Angelica’s devotion is initially subjected to a life-or-death test before he fully trusts her. 17 19 31

He is calculating, patient, and adept at performing weakness or innocence when it advances his goals. He hides his true abilities, manufactures identities such as “Horus,” and exploits the ambitions and fears of Rosweisse, Augustus, Candice, and the nobility. 4 12 40 48

Despite his vindictiveness, Qin Chu still responds strongly to sincere kindness and suffering. He respects Maritis for her genuine dedication, protects Angelica after recognizing her abuse, and accepts Antia’s request to stay beside him after witnessing her betrayal. 20 31 50

Qin Chu saves the Skyvault Continent, only to be poisoned, framed, publicly condemned, and executed by his former allies and the ruling powers. His death triggers the collapse of Saye Nikolas’s seal. 1 2

He awakens at the time of his original arrival and refuses to blindly save the world again. With Saye’s help, he hides his altered Authorities and begins planning long-term revenge against Rosweisse and the Hero’s Party. 3 4

Angelica and the Banquet
