Arc 9A Port and a Principality
Daemon consolidated Dragon’s Roost Port, secured its trade routes, and turned his ambitions toward building an empire. After defeating Craghas Drahar in a duel, he spared him and made him commander of the fleet, leaving Craghas to await the fleet’s arrival on Dragonstone.
- Jaehaerys approved Daemon’s resignation as Master of Intelligence, and Bartimos Celtigar, Corlys Velaryon, and Leonno Strong took on new council roles as Otto lost influence.
- After Aemma’s premature labor, Viserys chose to save her, and Daemon later left King’s Landing with Gael and his companions to return to Dragon’s Roost Port.
- Daemon welcomed the Citadel’s maesters, expanded farming and settlement, and allowed Bethany Hightower to study local herbs while warning her not to probe forbidden secrets.
- Daemon’s forces defeated pirates led by Bloodtooth Pyke, secured the port’s sea routes, and hosted Racallio Ryndoon, who shared tales of the Summer Isles and their Talking Trees.
- After Alys Rivers showed Daemon a vision of the Ironborn attacking the Summer Isles and his future victory there, Daemon vowed to build an empire and ordered broader recruitment, military expansion, and intelligence gathering.
- Daemon accepted Herman Dustin, Willie Fell, and Criston Cole into his service, assigning them roles in reclamation, troop training, and military affairs.
- Daemon released Craghas Drahar from his dungeon and defeated him in a beach duel, then offered him command of the fleet and a future governorship of Myr.
- Craghas swore allegiance to Daemon and stayed on Dragonstone to await the fleet, while Daemon flew back to Dragon’s Roost Port on Glutton.
