"...This dish is so spicy. My mouth hurts."
"Can I have a glass of juice?"
"Thank you."
"This sweet dish is delicious. Try some."
Wan Ying tightened his grip on his chopsticks and looked at the extra piece of meat on his plate, coated in tomato sauce.
Why had he provoked this guy in the first place?
Seeing how happy the Omega looked,
Wan Ying picked up the meat from his plate and put it in his mouth.
His brows drew together, and the urge to spit it out reached its peak.
He turned his head to look for a trash can.
Unfortunately, he met the Omega's gaze beside him.
"Isn't it delicious?"
The Omega blinked his bright eyes and looked at him expectantly.
If he said it tasted awful, he probably would not cry, right?
Wan Ying chewed a few times, swallowed the food, and reluctantly offered his assessment. "It's okay."
It was disgustingly sweet. He needed water.
"Mm, I don't want this plain water anymore. I want juice." Bian He picked up the half-full glass of water and pushed it toward him.
Was this Omega doing it on purpose? Did he want to watch him embarrass himself?
Wan Ying took the water and could not help complaining, "Do you take me for a trash can? You think I can eat anything?"
His mouth was cloyingly sweet.
He drained the glass of water.
As he swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbed, water droplets clinging to his lips.
Bian He lowered his eyes, and something flashed through his pale blue pupils.
He stroked his juice glass, lifted it, and took small sips.
The meal ended.
More than half an hour had passed.
Wan Ying paid the bill. When he turned around, the Omega was still sitting there, seemingly sulking.
"Why aren't you getting up? Planning to live here?"
Wan Ying walked over and grabbed the Omega's slender wrist.
His hand was so cold. Anyone who did not know better would think he was a cold corpse.
"Bian He, don't test my patience."
The sudden reprimand
made the Omega look up at him, panic filling his eyes.
Why were his lashes so long? Thick and distinct, like the brushes Wan Ying kept stored in his cabinet.
Bian He lightly bit his lower lip and glared at him resentfully, his pupils reddened by tears.
His wrist had been squeezed red, but he did not care at all.
As though he had worked up all his courage, he asked softly, "Aren't we taking the leftovers with us?"
Wan Ying's vision went dark. So he had been sulking just because of the leftovers?
"I'm not that poor."
He never dumped the food he left behind into the trash. Someone would naturally take care of it.
Bian He broke free and picked up an unfinished piece of sweet pineapple from the plate, putting it into his mouth.
His cheeks were stuffed full, making him look like a hamster.
"But if you're unhappy, you won't bring me out to eat again..."
He spoke unclearly, then picked up his chopsticks again, wanting to finish the meat on the plate.
Wan Ying froze and unconsciously tightened his grip on that slender wrist.
He had been sulking only because he was afraid Wan Ying would leave again,
forget entirely that he existed, and not care whether he lived or died.
After going days without food, even an S-class Omega with a strong constitution would feel the pain of hunger.
That last experience must have frightened Bian He.
So it was all his fault, inside and out?
Wan Ying snatched away the chopsticks and stared at the tomato sauce by Bian He's mouth. "No. I won't let you go hungry again."
The words slipped out.
The next second, he saw a bright, ingratiating smile.
"Thank you..."
Those two words seemed to hold no meaning at all for Bian He.
They were merely an ordinary, simple expression that he could say whenever he pleased.
Before meeting him, had he said it to other Alphas too?
Wan Ying suppressed his irritation and stopped looking at that smiling face.
It was only packing up leftovers. Did he have to be so happy?
Sure enough, Omegas were easy to coax and easy to fool.
He took Bian He to the restroom to rinse his mouth. When they left, he carried the takeout container in his hand.
They took the elevator downstairs.
As they passed through the lobby, they ran into several acquaintances.
"Mr. Wan, I never expected to meet you here. Would you honor us with your presence for a simple meal?"
A middle-aged man dressed rather smartly stepped forward to strike up a conversation.
Either he had no sense at all, or he was doing it deliberately.
Wan Ying raised a brow without speaking and flexed his wrist.
Had he been too easygoing lately?
Any stray cat or dog dared to come up and speak to him now.
Before opening their mouths, they ought to weigh whether they were worthy.
Oppressive pheromones spilled out.
The smile vanished from the man's face, and his ruddy complexion turned slightly pale.
The expressions of the people accompanying him also changed.
The man endured his discomfort and said, "Uh... Since Mr. Wan is busy, we won't disturb you. Please take care."
As he spoke, he signaled to the person beside him. After a slight bow, they hurried away.
At last, his ears were quiet.
There was no longer that disgusting, unpleasant pheromone scent either.
The interruption ended.
They returned to the car.
Bian He glanced at the man,
who sat in the back seat, apparently resting with his eyes closed.
Wan Ying had not said a word since getting into the car.
His pheromones had leaked out to some extent.
The partition was lowered.
There was enough space in the business van for one person.
Bian He took out a silver Bite Guard.
"Could you put it on for me...?"
Wan Ying lifted his eyelids and looked displeasedly at the person who had woken him.
Delicate pink-white fingers held one end of the Bite Guard.
His cold, unapproachable reflection appeared in those beautiful peach blossom eyes.
Those watery eyes were truly beautiful. They would probably look even better when crying.
He raised a hand, hooked the Bite Guard, and swung it in his hand. "Why do you want to wear this? Can't control your pheromones?"
The Omega blinked, staring intently at the Bite Guard in his hand, licking his lips greedily.
His breathing became unstable, and floral pheromones drifted out, making the temperature inside the car seem to rise.
"...I'll hurt you..."
As soon as the words fell,
the poppy-scented pheromones grew even stronger.
The entire car was filled with the scent of flowers, the overly concentrated pheromones brimming with danger.
Wan Ying watched the Omega desperately try to control his pheromones. Unable to draw them back in, he was frantic with terror.
They had only known each other for a few days, and he already truly regarded him as his master?
A pet that was too easy to raise was not necessarily obedient. Beneath that obedience hid scheming, always ready to turn on its so-called master.
He leaned closer and grabbed Bian He by the collar. "Bian He, do you think I would allow a mad dog to bite at will?"
These pheromones were not enough to affect him.
To him, they were neither here nor there.
But seeing the worried expression on the Omega's face did make things more entertaining.
He exerted a little force with his hand and pulled him into his arms.
The Bite Guard fell into the gap.
He grabbed Bian He's hand. "If I don't put it on you, what will you do to me? Do you want to kill me?"
Plenty of people wanted him dead because he sat in this position.
It was not impossible that someone had used an auction to deliberately send a beautiful Omega close to him, intending to kill him once he let down his guard.
Bian He adjusted his posture and looked at the man right in front of him.
What did he want to do?
What he wanted to do... he could not say.
Cold mint pheromones pressed down on him.
Pain shot through Bian He's body, and he instinctively wanted to run.
But his ankle was caught.
His struggle was futile.
He met the man's indifferent gaze. "You'll get angry at the thing I do."
The man's pleased laughter crashed down on him along with his pheromones.
Bian He blinked, not understanding why.
"You haven't done it, so how do you know I'll be angry?"
