Falling into the ERROR-404 Universe
Bang--!!
The dull thud of flesh colliding exploded in the deepest part of the Crimson Dimension.
The towering, crimson overlord, Cyttorak, was now pressed into the crimson lava like a dead dog. His prized magical heavy armor had been smashed into a terrifying dent hundreds of meters wide.
"Cough... Impossible... How could pure physics possibly break the fundamental laws of dimensions..."
Cyttorak coughed up black blood, his bloodshot eyes filled with extreme horror and disbelief.
The creature standing on his chest was a sixty-meter-tall [Ultimate Humungousaur].
Without uttering a single word, Jiang Li raised his enormous fist, as large as a mountain, and slammed it down on the face of this dimensional ruler once more!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
There were no fancy magical clashes, only the most primitive and brutal physical hammer blows.
Cyttorak's screams grew weaker and weaker until his entire head was smashed into the crystalline layers of the crimson earth. Jiang Li casually plucked a ball of pure crimson magic energy from Cyttorak's mangled body and stuffed it directly into the dial on his left wrist.
[Ding! A trace amount of Crimson Dimension Origin has been captured and stored in the Energy Depot.]
Just Jiang Li was about to continue draining the power from this big boss, a sudden change occurred.
Click click click...
Because the physical power of the Ultimate Humungousaur Tyrannosaurus was too terrifying, its continuous hammer blows not only shattered Cyttorak, but also directly broke through the load-bearing wall of this dimension!
The deep red sky shattered like a mirror.
A massive black vortex, entirely composed of spacetime turbulence, appeared out of nowhere above Jiang Li's head. The violent gravity even forcibly tore apart the remaining magical system of Cyttorak.
"Tsk. Did you smash the map to pieces?"
Jiang Li frowned slightly, immediately deactivated his Humungousaur form, and reverted to human form. With the [Multiversal Energy Core] protecting him, he was not afraid of the spacetime turbulence.
He didn't even resist, letting the immense suction force pull him into the spatial rift.
Perfect, it wouldn't be bad to travel to other universes.
Accompanied by a strong feeling of weightlessness, the bizarre and fantastical sights before my eyes quickly faded away.
Bang!
Jiang Li crashed heavily onto a hard asphalt road like a cannonball. The enormous impact created a crater ten meters in diameter, with spiderweb-like cracks spreading outwards.
He dusted himself off and stood up.
Where is this?
There was no smoke of gunpowder, no alien fleets, and no world-destroying gods.
The only sounds were the roar of car engines and the melodious sound of a saxophone coming from afar.
Jiang Li looked around.
This is a city. The streets are lined with retro brick and stone buildings, and rows of vintage Ford cars from the 1950s are parked along the roadside. Yellowed posters are pasted on the telephone poles.
Pedestrians on the street wore classic khaki trench coats and fedoras, while the ladies wore fitted, knee-length skirts.
"Time travel? Mid-20th century New York?"
Jiang Li twisted his neck. If it were just an ordinary historical timeline, it would be far too boring.
But he soon realized something was wrong.
Something is very wrong.
Jiang Li looked down at his feet. The ten-meter-wide crater he had created when he fell from the sky was now disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
It's not that the soil heals, but rather that it's "reversed".
The shattered asphalt fragments receded from the air and fell back to the ground, the cracks closing like a zipper. In just two seconds, the road surface was as smooth as new, even the dust he had stepped on returned to its original position.
Jiang Li's eyes turned cold, and he raised his foot and stomped down hard!
Boom!
A burst of physical force, enough to crush a tank, caused the road surface to shatter once again.
But the bizarre scene repeated itself. No matter how deep Jiang Li's damage was, the road surface would be forcibly "reset" to a perfect state within two seconds.
Physical destruction is ineffective here.
Or rather, the underlying laws of this universe are forcibly correcting all "physical changes that do not conform to the established rules".
"Interesting. At the end of physics, you've switched to idealism?" Jiang Li stroked his chin.
He looked up at the pedestrians around him.
He made such a commotion when he landed, even breaking the pavement twice, but the passersby in trench coats didn't even glance at him.
They were like wind-up puppets.
A woman in a red dress walked past Jiang Li. The heel of her right high heel was broken, but she maintained perfect balance while walking, even the angle of her ankle bend was exactly the same, as if the broken heel still existed.
A newsboy on the street corner mechanically waved his newspaper, repeating the exact same syllables, his breathing and chest movements as if copied and pasted.
Everyone wore the same stiff smile.
Following the gazes of these people, Jiang Li raised his head and looked up at the sky.
Upon seeing this, even Jiang Li, who was used to seeing gods, raised an eyebrow slightly.
The sky is not blue.
Instead, it was a deathly, desolate green.
There were no clouds. And in the very center of that pale green sky hung a black sun radiating a cold, dark light.
This is a universe that has been completely distorted and inverted by some unknown force!
Just then, a cold wind blew by.
A yellowed newspaper, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, landed squarely on Jiang Li's face.
Jiang Li tore the newspaper down.
This wasn't a newspaper at all, but a flyer printed with glaring bloody words. There was no news on it, only densely packed text that exuded an eerie atmosphere.
Welcome to New York, ERROR-404.
[In order to live to see tomorrow's sunrise (even if it's black), please be sure to abide by the following Citizen Survival Rules:]
[Rule 1: The safety of this city is the responsibility of "Good Neighbor." If someone taps you on the left shoulder from behind and says, "I'm your Good Neighbor," immediately pierce both ears with the sharpest object possible, and absolutely do not turn around!]
[Rule Two: The sky is always green. If you see the sky turn blue, it means "Thor" is watching you. Immediately find a fully enclosed basement and do not touch any metal.]
[Rule Three: Stark Industries is the city's only charitable institution. But remember, absolutely, absolutely never look directly at anyone wearing red and gold armor! If you find your skin starting to rust, you should end it all.]
[Rule Four: There are no superheroes in this world. If you've seen one, it means you've been corrupted.]
Jiang Li looked at the strange tale rules in his hand, which reeked of blood.
"Have superheroes become an unspeakable source of rule corruption?"
Jiang Li flicked the Omnitrix on his left wrist, and the galaxy vortex in the center of the watch face slowly rotated.
"That's interesting."
